Recently Spice said that it would launch Firefox OS-powered smartphones with dual SIM support by July 2014. Now Intex has announced that it plans to launch Firefox OS device, Cloud FX in August. Lava Iris 350M, a new entry-level smartphone in the Iris series is now available from online retailer HomeShop18. The Iris 402e, another entry-level smartphone has appeared on the official website. The Iris 350M has a 3.5-inch HVGA screen and the Iris 402e comes with a 4-inch WVGA screen based on OGS technology. Both these are powered by 1GHz processor and run on Android 4.2. (Jelly Bean). Few weeks after launching the Unite 2 A106 running Android 4.4 (KitKat), the Micromax Unite A092 has been listed on the official website. It also comes with support for 20 Indian languages, similar to Unite 2, but this runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has a 4-inch WVGA screen and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (MSM8212) processor. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Mozilla introduced a range of new Firefox OS devices at the MWC 2014 earlier this year and also announced a $25 reference design powered by a Spreadtrum processor. Oppo has launched the Find 7a along with the Find 7 in India. It has a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD display at 403 PPI with Gorilla Glass 3, powered by a 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Quad Core (MSM8974AB) processor and runs on ColorOS 1.2.0 based on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). It has the same 13-megapixel camera Sony IMX214 stacked sensor with 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture present on the Find 7 and uses software enhancements to capture images at 50-megapixel (8,160 x 6,120 pixels) resolution. ZTE has announced its plans to expand operations in India by launching six new smartphones this year. The Chinese telecom maker made its debut in India last year in July by launching smartphones and 3G data cards.

Micromax is considering to enter the growing wearables market, according to the Times of India. The company’s newly appointed Chairman Sanjay Kapoor stated that Micromax could expand its offerings beyond smartphones and tablets and foray into wearable devices and machine-to-machine products.
