At its Autumn New Product Launch Event, Xiaomi officially introduced its latest tablet series: the Xiaomi Pad 9 and the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro as the successors to last year’s Xiaomi Pad 8 series. The lineup spans two display sizes, targeted performance tiers, and dedicated anti-glare display variants.
Display and Design
The base Xiaomi Pad 9 features an 11.2-inch form factor, positioned for portability and media consumption. It arrives in four colorways: Ice Peach Pink, Spruce Green, Black, and Silver.
The larger Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro incorporates a 12.5-inch panel designed to accommodate productivity and multitasking workflows. The Pro model is offered in three finishes: Spruce Green, Black, and Silver. Both lines feature specialized “Soft Light Edition” variants engineered with matte, anti-reflective screen treatments to reduce glare under direct lighting.
Hardware and Performance
Under the hood, the two models differ in processing platforms and battery capacities:
- Xiaomi Pad 9: Powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Mobile Platform. It integrates a 9,720 mAh battery.
- Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro: Upgraded to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform. It houses a larger 11,000 mAh battery, which Xiaomi rates for up to 14.5 hours of continuous short video playback or up to 20 hours of online meetings on a single charge.
