The successor of the A6000, the phone supports 4G LTE and is also the world’s first smartphone with Dolby ATMOS support, offering an immersive audio experience. We went hand on with the phone at the event and here is a walkthrough at the hardware.

As part of our tour of Huawei’s China facilities, we were given an exclusive look at the company’s Research & Development labs. In the second of a two part-series, we look at the ways that Huawei tests the ability of its handsets to survive environment and climate changes as well as the key part; the reliability of its smartphones and their various ports and buttons.

In the first part of this series, we covered how Huawei tests its handsets for network performance and compliance with radiation emissions regulations and in this second part, we’re going to look at the tests that really affect mobile handsets – the reliability of the handset and its ports and the ability of the handset to handle different environments and climate changing. With more and more smartphones released on the market each year, it becomes even more difficult for a handset to stand out from the competition. Some manufacturers have attempted to attract customers using specialist software and hardware features – like the S Pen on the Galaxy Note 4 – but for others, standing out has been difficult and we’ve seen many companies struggle to make their mark.

In the case of Russian company Yota, they saw an opportunity to show that e-ink displays – which have been present on eReaders for a while now – could also be used in a smartphone and whilst the YotaPhone was designed like a wedge, the YotaPhone 2 aims to be different by offering a Full colour display and a unique e-ink display all in one smartphone. BLU Products has released BLU Studio Energy smartphone in U.S. with a 5000mAh battery that promises up to 4 days of battery life on standard usage with a single charge or 45 days stand-by. Specifications of the smartphone is decent too, which includes a 5-inch HD display, 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor, 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot.
