Next gen iPhone Fake or Real

Reports are from a French website French iphone blog iPhon.fr suggest that this is the next gen iphone. But they sure don’t seem so as everyone the internet claim it’s a choppy Photoshop work of the LG Vu. Well amidst several rumors it looks quite promising not enough to be dropped or brushed aside unless any strong source cooks up something really true.

BlackBerry KickStart clamshell ?

The first ever clamshell from BlackBerry maker RIM, its dubbed the KickStart. The phone really looks great and awesome. With looks matching that of a Nokia N93i and the Panasonic phones mixed together, the phone surely would appeal to the business folk as well who didn’t have options till date to hold a blackberry that looked insane and so sober. But now things are changing. The plain jane look is being over thrown and cooler blackberry s fast approaching. Kudos guys

Number Portability further delayed

The COAI and the TRAI have stated that the number portability or NP system would further be delayed. Expected to have been launched by September this year, it has taken a back lash to early 2009 as the ministry failed to reach a consensus and create a database of the subscribers and how all the mechanism could prove vital to the subscribers. So here is another good scheme taking the back seat due to the Government.

3G iPhone + WiMAX

Last week, Craig Mathias wrote a piece on 802.21, a convergence standard promoted by the likes of InterDigital (IDCC) and Intel (INTC). The people at 9to5 Mac immediately saw the iPhone connection, and hatched what I thought was a highly speculative story. That Apple (AAPL) will push this yet official standard to include WiMAX into its impending 3G iPhone, based on convenient interpretation of a series of events, is the work of a very creative mind.

TRAI favours number portability

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Friday said it was in favour of implementing nationwide ‘mobile number portability’ (MNP) by June 2009. It has now asked the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) to select an operator who will be licensed for providing and operating end-to-end MNP solution.

Forwarding its ‘draft request for proposal’ to the DoT, TRAI has recommended that the MNP clearing house administrator should be licensed through a competitive bidding process. Continue reading “TRAI favours number portability”

Intex Technologies recently launched the IN-2222, a low-end economy handset. Reprieve for BlackBerry users as of now

The issue may be resolved — at least for a year.
