YU YUREKA Benchmarks

Micromax’s YU launched the YU YUREKA (AO5510), the first smartphone under YU brand last month for Rs. 8,999. We brought you the hands on, unboxing and the photo gallery recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.54 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.0 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550 MHz. It has 2GB DDR3 RAM, 5.5-inch HD screen and runs on Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat). Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

ZTE Grand S2 Benchmarks

ZTE launched the Grand S2 smartphone in India at a price tag of Rs. 13,999 last month. We bought you the unboxing and the photo gallery of the smartphone recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) 28nm HPm quad-core Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.15 GHz and has Adreno 330 GPU clocked at 450 MHz. Lenovo launched the S580 smartphone last month exclusively on Snapdeal for Rs. 8,999. We already brought you the unboxing and photo gallery of the smartphone recently, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 Processor with four ARM Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.19 GHz per core and has Adreno 302 GPU. It has the same Quad-Core Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) 28nm HPm Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.65 GHz with Adreno 420 GPU, has 3GB RAM and runs on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat), similar to the Galaxy Note 4. Google Nexus 6 smartphone made by Motorola was officially launched in India last week, priced at  Rs. 43,999 for the 32GB variant and the 64GB variant is priced at Rs. 48,999. We brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery recently, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Quad-Core Snapdragon 805 (APQ8084) 28nm HPm Krait 450 CPU clocked at 2.65 GHz with Adreno 420 GPU clocked at 600 MHz. It has 3GB RAM, a 5.96-inch (1440 x 2560 pixels) Quad HD display and runs on Android 5.0. We did not add Quadrant and Linpack benchmarks since the scores were very low compared to other Snapdragon 805-powered devices. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

Google Nexus 9 Benchmarks

Google announced the Nexus 9 tablet made by HTC last month, and it is expected to launch in India soon, starting at Rs. 28,990. We brought you the photo galley and the unboxing of the tablet recently. Here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. The Nexus 9 has is powered by a 64-bit NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with two Denver CPUs clocked at 2.5GHz per core, rather than the traditional 4+1 Cortex A15 setup. The Kepler GPU has single SMX/GPC design, which amounts to 192 CUDA cores. Even though it has the same Kepler graphics architecture found in its latest generation of PC GPUs such as NVIDIA GeForce Titan, this consumes less than 2W of power. The Nexus 9 has 2GB of RAM and  8.9″ (2048×1536 pixels) IPS display. Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.

When considering the performance of a handset, attention is inevitably turned towards benchmarking applications such as GeekBench 3, 3D Mark and AnTuTu (to name a few). When comparing performance across iOS and Android, the number of compatible benchmark applications are limited but both GeekBench 3 and 3D Mark reveal some interesting facts. Comparing the iPhone 6 Plus and the LG G3, we can see some interesting facts about the optimisation achieved by Apple and LG in each handset. Lenovo launched the Vibe Z2 Pro smartphone in India back in September . We reviewed the smartphone recently, here are the benchmarks of the Vibe Z2 Pro. It is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 801 28nm HPm Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.46 GHz with Adreno 330 GPU clocked at 578 MHz. It has a 6-inch ( 2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD display  and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) OS with Vibe 2.0 UI on  top.  Several flagship smartphones have a Snapdragon 801 SoC, but very few smartphones feature a Quad HD display.
