Karbonn Smart Tab 8 with 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 now available for Rs. 7025

Karbonn Smart Tab 8, a new Android tablet in the Smart Tab range is now available online from Saholic. The Karbonn Smart Tab 8 (Velox) comes with a 1.5 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8.0-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) display, 3MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. The company launched Smart Tab 10 10-inch tablet with a similar processor and Android 4.1 OS few weeks back and launched the Smart Tab 9 and Smart Tab 3 back in October. Highest number of Android and iOS devices get activated on Christmas Day

Looks like everyone did wait till Christmas day to open their presents, as it has been reported that Android and iOS device activation was the highest ever on December 25th. According to Flurry analytics, 17.4 million Android and iOS devices were activated on Christmas day compared to an average of 4 million activations on any other day, which is an increase of a whopping 332%.

Samsung confirms Jelly Bean update to Galaxy Note, brings multi-window

Premium suite for the original Galaxy Note was rumored to come with multi-view window, Google Now, video preview with S pen in air, etc. Now Samsung has confirmed this premium suite will be heading to Galaxy Note.

Byond Tech, popular for the Mi-Book series of tablets has launched Phablet III, an Android smartphone with a 6-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and 1GHz dual-core processor. It comes with dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support with dual Standby and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It comes with a 8MP rear camera wih LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. Even though it has a large screen like a table, it has functions of a smartphone, but there are no details about the RAM and internal memory yet. Videocon VT10 10-inch tablet running Android 4.1 now available for Rs. 11200

Looks like Videocon is on a roll. The company launched A20 and A30, affordable dual-SIM Android smartphones earlier this week, now their first tablet Videocon VT10 is on sale from online retailers, Snapdeal and HomeShop18. This tablet has a 10-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) capacitive multi-touch IPS display and is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and has a 2MP rear and front-facing cameras. It also comes with pre-loaded apps including NexGtv, Saavn ,Facebook, Nimbuzz and more. Cycloramic app spins your iPhone 5 to take panoramic video

Cycloramic is a new iPhone app that uses iPhone 5’s vibrating motors to spin the phone automatically while capturing a panoramic video . You need to put the iPhone 5 on a smooth, hard and level surface, choose number of turns, and front or back camera and press the “GO” button for it to capture a panoramic video in 720p or 1080p resolution. There are several apps for the iPhone to take 360 degree panoramas, but this is the only app that spins the iPhone automatically. Huawei Ascend G330 is now available for purchase from online retailer Snapdeal in India. Most of the features in the G330 are similar to the Huawei Ascend G300 that was launched in India back in July, including a 4-inch ( 800×480 pixels) IPS capactive touch screen display and a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash, but the Ascend G330 comes with a 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box and comes with a front-facing camera. Videocon has entered into the Smartphone segment with the launched of A20 and A30, affordable Android Smartphones in India. These are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors and has Dual SIM support with Dual Standby. The A20 comes with a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 1GHz processor 3MP rear Camera and a VGA front-facing camera, while the A30 comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA display, 1GHz dual-core processor, 5MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. HTC One S JellyBean update roll out starts

HTC has started the roll out of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in some markets including UK. We had access to a UK unit and a massive 600 MB update showed up via OTA today. The update bears the version number 3.16.401.8 and measures 612.27 MB.We decided to give it a go and it was the much awaited jelly bean update. HTC had promised that it will release Android 4.1 JellyBean for the One S and One X this year and looks like the Taiwanese phone maker is keeping its word ! The company entered into the Smartphone market in October with the Zync Cloud Z5, a 5-inch phablet. Intex iBuddy Connect 7-inch tablet with Voice calling, Android 4.0 launched for Rs 7,990

Intex has launched the iBuddy Connect, a new 7-inch tablet in the iBuddy range. Most of the features are similar to the 7-inch i-Buddy tablet that was launched earlier this year, but this comes with a SIM card slot and supports voice calling features. It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1 GHz processor. Facebook Poke for iPhone launched, takes on Snapchat

Facebook has finally launched a new app called Poke for iPhone as rumored. This app would let you send a message, photo, or video to Facebook friends that expires after a specific time (1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds). This message disappears after the specified time. Earlier this month, Facebook for Android got updated allowing new users to sign up using their name and phone number without a Facebook account. Dropbox Beta for Android updated with Multiple photo sharing, deleting and Albums in Photos tab

Dropbox for Android introduced photos tabs for uploads back in October, now they have released a new Beta version that enhances the photos tab. The new 2.2.2.8 experimental build for Android brings option select, share , delete and create albums from the photos tab. The Dropbox for iPhone and iPad got the Photos tab in the version 2.0 update last week but these new features are not available yet.
