Amazon has updated its Kindle app for iPhone and iPad to version 4.5 that brings several new features including a new Kindle Today Widget for iOS 8 users that makes reading multiple books easier.The update also brings ability to copy passages from books and paste into text messages, e-mail or other apps, new convenient translation feature, iOS 8 support, bug fixes, and stability improvements. Amazon announces new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 with Snapdragon 805

Amazon has updated its Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet. It has a that same 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, but now it is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, instead of Snapdragon 800 on last year’s Fire HDX 8.9. It runs on the new Fire OS 4.0 Sangria based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5P f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 720p HD camera. Amazon has introduced the Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year’s Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don’t have LTE support. Prior to the price cut it was selling for Rs.11,900 on the official eStore, which is the launch price of the smartphone.
