Lava has launched Iris Atom and Iris Atom 3, two new budget smartphones in the Atom series, months after the launch of Iris Atom 2. The Iris Atom has a 4-inch WVGA screen, while the the Atom 3 has a 5-inch FWVGA display. Both the smartphones are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, run on Android 5.1 (Lollipop), have a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, come with dual SIM support and have 3G connectivity. Ulefone, one of the popular smartphone makers in China today introduced Ulefone Power, its latest smartphone with a 6050mAh battery. This also comes with a 9V/2~3A quick charger that can charge the phone fully in 90 to 120 minutes, according to the company. A 5 minute Quick Charge can offer talk time of up to 2 hours and a 30 minute Quick Charge will offer 1 day of normal use, says Ulefone. It is 9.5mm thick and weighs just 190 grams, even though it packs a huge battery and also has a metal frame and a abrasion-proof back cover. LG Spirit 4G with VoLTE, 4.7-inch HD display launched in India for Rs. 11900

LG had already announced its plans to launch Spirit LTE and G4 Stylus 4G smartphones with VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) support in India in partnership with Reliance Retail. Now the company has launched the Spirit 4G LTE (LG-442) smartphone in the country. The company said that the new VoLTE and VoWiFi features will enable faster transmission of data and voice. Samsung introduced the Galaxy A9, its top-end ‘Galaxy A’ series smartphone with a 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 SoC,  13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a fingerprint sensor in China last week, but it did not announce the pricing or the release date at the event. Gionee F105, successor of the F103 has been certified by China’s TENAA (Via). According to the listing, the smartphone packs a 5-inch HD IPS display, is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the F103, but this runs on Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out of the box. Samsung’s 12 inch Windows 10 tablet gets Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi certification

Earlier in August, it was touted that Samsung is working on a Windows powered 12 inch tablet. Now, the tablet with a model number SM-W700 has received Bluetooth SIG and the Wi-Fi Alliance.

It has 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash for capturing better selfies even in low lighting conditions. It has dual SIM support, but it has only 3G connectivity and lacks 4G LTE support.

Huawei Honor 7 gets Android 6.0 Marshmallow beta update in India

Huawei has finally released the beta version of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for the Honor 7 users in India. This update is available for only those who register for the OTA (over the air) using the Google Drive forum here with their current software version and IMEI. The company says that it will verify the information and will start pushing the OTA update for the users after 24 to 48 hours of submission. Xiaomi introduced the Redmi Note 3 smartphone last month. We brought you the unboxing and benchmarks of the smartphone recently, here we have the battery life test results.  The Redmi Note 3 packs a 4000mAh built-in battery, which is larger than the than 3060mAh battery on the Redmi Note 2. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio X10 processor and runs on MIUI 7 based on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop). Check out the test results below.
