BBC Sport app for iPhone launched globally

BBC international has launched their official BBC Sport application for iPhone. It offers Sports news, live scores, stats, commentary and analysis on-the-go. It was first launched for UK, and aims at offering football scores including starting line-ups, match stats, live text commentary and the post-match report. JBL Lightning-equipped Audio Docks available in India starting from February

JBL has announced that their new range of Lightning-equipped Audio Docks for Apple devices including the iPhone 5, the iPad 4th Generation and the iPad mini would go on sale in India starting from this month. These audio docks include, the JBL OnBeat Micro, JBL OnBeat Mini, JBL OnBeat Venue LT and the JBL OnBeat Rumble. JBL is one of the first company to launch the audio docks with lightning support, and they have managed to sell over 250 thousand units of these audio docks worldwide. Evernote Hello for iPhone v2.0 update brings new UI, Business Card Scanning and more

Evernote has updated their Hello app for iPhone to version 2.0 that brings lot of new features including a new user interface with a new home screen that offers more context of a person at a glace, option to scan business cards (free for first 2 month, after that it would be available only for premium users), LinkedIn and Facebook integration and lots more new features. Apple releases iOS 6.1 for iPhone , iPod touch and iPad

Apple has just released the iOS 6.1 software update for the iPhone , iPad and iPod touch. The update just showed up on my iPhone 5 and was about 100MB in size. It looks like an update to fix a lot of bugs.

Twitter launches Vine video sharing app for iPhone

Twitter has launched Vine, a new video sharing service that would let users upload a video clip up to 6 seconds directly from their mobile phone. The Vine uses a similar concept to share and discover what’s happening in the world in short and easy way just like Twitter’s 140-character limit. Even though there are several video sharing services that would let you post on twitter, this app seems fun and easy to create short videos, including stop motion videos. Opera Ice Mobile Browser shown off, coming to Android, iPhone and iPad in February

Opera Ice, upcoming mobile browser for Android, iPhone and iPad has been revealed in a new video demo. The beta version of the app was shown off last month in an internal Opera staff meeting that Pocket-lint managed to get. The Opera Ice uses WebKit browser engine used by Apple and Google, unlike the Opera’s Presto present in the Opera Mini and the Opera Mobile . Imangi Studios, the creators of Temple Run has launched the Temple Run 2, sequel to the first game. The Temple Run 2 also has the similar game play mechanics such as running, jumping, turning and sliding, but adds new features including cliffs, zip lines, mines and forests. Gaana Music app launched for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry and Java phones

Times Internet has launched official Gaana Music app that would let users discover and listen to songs in Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu and 21 other languages. You can also create playlists and get recommendations for songs, if you login with your Gaana account. This app is available for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry, Samsung Bada 2.0 and Nokia Symbian and Java phones. Hope the company launches the Gaana app for Windows Phone devices soon. Facebook Messenger for Android and iPhone updated with Voice Messaging

Facebook has updated Messenger app for Android and iPhone that brings option to send quick voice messages to your friends. You can choose a friend or a group of friends and select the attach button next to the text area, to record voice messages. You need to press and hold the record button to record a message, which shows the number of seconds the voice is being recorded. Highest number of Android and iOS devices get activated on Christmas Day

Looks like everyone did wait till Christmas day to open their presents, as it has been reported that Android and iOS device activation was the highest ever on December 25th. According to Flurry analytics, 17.4 million Android and iOS devices were activated on Christmas day compared to an average of 4 million activations on any other day, which is an increase of a whopping 332%.

Cycloramic app spins your iPhone 5 to take panoramic video

Cycloramic is a new iPhone app that uses iPhone 5’s vibrating motors to spin the phone automatically while capturing a panoramic video . You need to put the iPhone 5 on a smooth, hard and level surface, choose number of turns, and front or back camera and press the “GO” button for it to capture a panoramic video in 720p or 1080p resolution. There are several apps for the iPhone to take 360 degree panoramas, but this is the only app that spins the iPhone automatically.
