CPUID has released the CPU-Z, popular PC/Windows CPU Identification for Android. This shows SoC name, architecture, clock speed for each core, Battery info, Sensors and more for your Android device. Senors tab is one of the most useful feature that lets you find the number of sensor on your device. It works on Android devices running on Android 3.0 or above. CPUID says that the interface (tabs + swipe) requires Android 3.0, hence the restriction. Yahoo has updated the Sports app to version 4.0 on Android and iOS that brings iPad support, new design and lots more new features. The app is faster and easier to scan, navigate and consume and the extra screen space lets you read an articles while keeping an eye on the scores. Micromax launched the A88 Canvas Music, the first Music Phone in the Canvas series last month. It has a 4.5-inch  (854 x 480 pixels) display and run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is powered by a 1 Ghz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor based on ARM Cortex A9 with PowerVR SGX531 GPU. Here are the benchmarks of the device compared to other Android smartphones.

MTV Volt 1000 with 6-inch display, dual-core processor, Android 4.1 launched for Rs. 11999

Swipe Telecom has tied-up with MTV once again to launch the MTV Volt 1000, successor of the Volt that was launched earlier this year.  It has a 6-inch (854 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. This has 1GB of RAM instead of 512MB in its predecessor and the battery has gone down to 2850 mAh. AMD powered Android devices coming soon

We were at the AMD India Techno Graffiti event last night, and during the Q&A session we asked the all important question of AMD’s future in mobile. The answer first was in the context of mobile being laptops and tablets and how AMD are going for the hybrid nascent segment of low powered computing devices unlike the cheaper small-screened consumption devices. But when asked if Android powered devices are a possibility with AMD chip powering them, the answer was yes. AMD India’s head told us that AMD is working on bringing Android powered devices to its portfolio but couldn’t say when.

Huawei Ascend Mate now available in India for Rs. 28900


Huawei Ascend Mate, the company’s latest flagship smartphone is now available in India from online retailer Infibeam. It was spotted on Flipkart along with a price tag earlier this week, but the page was removed later. It packs a 6.1-inch 720p display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) with Huawei’s EmotionUI 1.5 on top. Google has updated the official Blogger app to version 2.0.41 that brings support for Android tablets finally. The Blogger Android app was released back in February 2011. The app had seen several changes since the launch, but it took more than 2 years for Google to bring the tablet support. This update also brings improved compose screen with WYSIWYG editor for existing posts that was introduced for the iOS app in version 2.1.7.1. Google releases Cloud Print app for Android

Google Cloud Print for Android

Google has released Cloud Print app for Android. This lets you send a picture or a document from your Android device to a cloud print-connected printer. You can also track the status of your print jobs from the app easily. Google Chrome for iPhone and iPad were updated recently with Cloud Print features. Google Print is already available for Chrome for Android, Google Drive for AndroidGmail Mobile app.

Samsung Galaxy Pocket Neo (GT-S5312) is now available in India from online retailers Flipkart and Snapdeal. It was announced back in April along with the Galaxy Star and was spotted on the official Samsung India website last month. The Galaxy Star was officially launched in India last month. It has a 3-inch (320 x 240 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 850 MHz  processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and comes with Dual SIM support with Dual SIM Always ON that lets you receive calls on one SIM even when you are using the other one. Samsung Galaxy S4 zoom with 16MP camera, 10x Optical Zoom, Android 4.2 announced

Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy S4 zoom, the company’s flagship camera phone. It has a 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor with 10x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS) and Xenon Flash. It has a 4.3 inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor (Chip varies based on the market) and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Unlike the Galaxy Camera, you can make calls with this since it has an ear piece. It also comes with LTE support in select markets. This has a Zoom Ring that lets you zoom and offers new features such as In-Call Photo sharing via MMS to the caller with just a twist. It also lets you activate the Quick Launch and Shortcut features. The dials from the Galaxy Camera have been replaced by digital controls. Lemon Mobiles has launched the A4, the company’s latest Android smartphone with a 1080p display. The phone comes under the Aspirational series. It appeared on the official website earlier this month as Aspire Full HD. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13.1-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby.

We already reported that the Huawei Ascend Mate would launch in India priced under Rs. 30,000. The phone has now been priced in India at Rs. 28,900 on online retail website Flipkart. The Ascend Mate has a 6.1-inch 720p display, powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core Hi-Silicon K3V2 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)  with Huawei’s EmotionUI 1.5 on top. It is 9.9 mm thick and weighs 198 grams. This update brings new features such as option to move apps to the SD card, Semi-transparent status bar, new Smart Pause toggle in the notification, New camera firmware and lots more.
