At the Redmi Note 4G launch, Airtel partnered with Xiaomi to sell the smartphone through Airtel flagship stores across six cities in India. The smartphone went on sale on Flipkart on 30th December for Rs. 9,999 in the first flash sale, and 40,000 units sold out in 6 seconds. Now Airtel has started bookings for the Redmi Note 4G smartphone on the official website. In recent months several Indian smartphone manufacturers have targeted low-mid range segment. Smartphones in this category are compact, offer a small screen that is less than 4.5-inches, and offer specifications usually seen in mid-range smartphones that are priced over Rs. 10,000. The Obi Alligator S454 and Lava Iris X1 belong to this category, so we decided to compare these smartphones. The Obi Alligator S454 was launched last month for Rs. 6,450 and the Lava Iris X1 was originally launched back in May for Rs. 7,999 and the company relaunched the smartphone in August in 8GB variant for the same price.

Xiaomi has sold 40,000 units of Redmi Note 4G smartphones in just 6 seconds in today’s (December 30th) sale in India. This is the first time Xiaomi is selling its Redmi Note 4G smartphone, and over 2 lakh people had registered for the sale. The Redmi Note 4G has support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, instead of Octa-Core MediaTek chip in the 3G variant. Samsung Galaxy Grand Max and Galaxy A7 revealed in official brochure in Korea

After several leaks, the Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A700) has gone official on the official brochure by Samsung in Korea. Along with the Galaxy A7, Samsung also plans to launch the Galaxy Grand Max (SM-G720N0) smartphone in 2015. The Grand Max has similar design as the Grand 2 and the Galaxy A7 has full metallic body, similar to other A series smartphones. Both these smartphones will come with VoLTE and DMB support in Korea.
