Idea has launched its new 3G Wi-Fi dongle called SmartWiFi Hub that has a 1500mAh built-in battery so that you don’t need to connect it to a external power source such as laptop or an adapter for power support. It lets you connect up to 10 devices and offers download speed of up to 21.6Mbps. It is compatible on 900 MHz and 2100 MHz bands and is targeted towards SOHO (small office and home office) users. Idea Cellular has launched Idea Magna and Magna L, two new Android KitKat smartphones with 3G connectivity in India. The Idea Magna has a 4-inch display and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor, while the Magna L has a 4.5-inch display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor. Both these smartphones have a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. These have Dual SIM support. Other details are not available yet. This BIS plan for BlackBerry OS 7 customers offer 1GB of 2G data at Rs. 83 per month, and Rs. 999 annually (taxes extra). To activate the plan, postpaid Idea users on BB OS 7 can SMS ACT999ARP to 12345. This confirms the company’s commitment to BlackBerry OS 7 customers, even though it has moved to OS 10. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The Idea FAB has a 4-inch display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.

Idea Cellular has launched !d 4000, the company’s latest budget smartphone with 3G connectivity. It has a 3.5-inch HVGA display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera without flash. It has dual SIM support with dual standby, similar to other Idea phones and also comes with 3G connectivity. The looks like a minor upgrade compared to the Idea !d 1000 that was launched earlier this March, since only the camera and the battery have seen a change. The Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) today cleared the 3G intra-circle roaming agreements signed between Bharti Airtel, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular by saying that the 3G intra-circle-roaming (ICR) does not violate the Unified Access Service Licence (UASL) license, reports ET. It has also quashed all penalties imposed by the Department of Telecom (DoT) on these operators last year.

Idea Cellular has launched special 2G Trial Packs for its prepaid subscribers in Delhi that would let users enjoy internet at an economical price. The pack is priced at Rs. 25 and comes with 500 MB of 2G data which comes with 500 MB of 2G data. Vodafone launched a similar trial pack for 2G and 3G customers recently.
