Spice Coolpad 2 Mi-496, the company’s new smartphone in the Coolpad series is now available from online retailer Saholic. Spice launched the Coolpad Mi-515, the first smartphone in the Coolpad series after the Coolpad tie up last month. The Coolpad 2 has a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is likely to come with a Snapdragon 200 (MSM8625Q) processor, since the Chinese variant Coolpad 7268 comes with a similar chip. The Coolpad Mi-515 had a quad-core MediaTek MT6589M processor. It comes with a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash has Dual SIM support with Dual Standby. Spice launched the Coolpad Mi-515 few weeks back. Here we have the benchmarks of the device. It has a 5-inch qHD (960 × 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589M processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU similar to the Xolo Q700. It comes with a 5-megapixel auto focus camera on the back and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It comes with SIM card support that offers 3G data connectivity and voice calling. LG Optimus G Pro Benchmarks

LG launched the Optimus G Pro in India yesterday at a price tag of Rs. 42,500 (MRP). We got hold of the device to run some benchmarks. The device has a 5.5 inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU clocked at 400 MHz and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Vodafone introduces free incoming on roaming, plans start from Rs. 5

Vodafone India has launched new Special Tariff Vouchers (STV) for its pre-paid and post-paid customers that would let them enjoy free incoming while on national roaming. Airtel announced a similar roaming pack earlier this week and Idea Cellular launched national roaming packs few days back. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) reduced the limit for national roaming tariff for calls and SMS last month that makes free roaming plans for all the operators compulsory. Videocon Mobile Services is the latest operator to cut 2G data rates. Videocon has reduced 2G GPRS rates by 90% across Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh circles. Last month Vodafone announced reduction of 2G data rates for the Pay as you Go (PAYG) users down to 2p/10KB and Airtel announced reduction of 2G data rates by 90% for pre-paid customers in Punjab and Haryana. Few weeks back Idea Cellular has announced new 2G data rate of 2p/10KB for their prepaid and postpaid customers. Airtel increases stake in Qualcomm’s 4G venture to 51%

Airtel has increased its stake to 51% in the 4G broadband ventures owned by Qualcomm, raising it from 49% that was acquired by the company back in May 2012, according to a report from ET. Qualcomm won BWA Spectrum in Delhi, Mumbai, Haryana and Kerala circles in 2010 by paying about USD 1 billion (Rs. 4912.54 crore approx).
