Intex has announced that the company has tied-up with MediaTek again to launch India’s first smartphone featuring MediaTek’s MT6592 True Octa-Core processor. The upcoming Intex smartphone doesn’t have a name yet, but it would feature a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It would feature a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera similar to the Aqua i7. Starsports.com and Twitter have partnered to offer in-stream videos on starsports.com for Twitter users, without leaving Twitter. As part of the partnership, whenever a link to starsports.com is tweeted, Twitter users on mobile will have the option to download the starsports.com application. Once the mobile application is installed, they will be able to open the app directly by clicking the tweeted link, to watch the video. The much awaited Google Nexus 5 is expected to launch in India as early as next week. LG Stores, LG Shoppes and retailer sources across various cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai have confirmed to us that stocks will be arriving by Monday. Google has already listed the Nexus 5 on the Play Store at Rs. 28,999 for the 16GB version and Rs. 32,999 for the 32GB version, but LG would sell the phones in the market at Rs. 29,999 for the 16GB version and Rs. 33,999 for the 32GB version, which is Rs. 1000 higher than the Play Store pricing.

Lenovo has launched two new multimode Android tablets, the Yoga Tablet 8 and Yoga Tablet 10 in India. Lenovo Yoga allows the users to experience the tablet in three modes – hold, tilt and stand mode. The Yoga 10 inch and Yoga 8 inch models are powered by 1.2GHz MediaTek MT8389 Quad Core processors and run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The front speakers with Dolby audio provide a powerful surround sound experience through the device speakers and headphones. Both these tablets were announced last month. After rolling out the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update in the UK last week, HTC has started rolling out the update in India. The update started rolling out in Taiwan back in September, and the UK users got v3.62.401.1. Update for the Indian users has the version number 3.63.707.4. Xolo has announced that the company has partnered with Broadcom to launched the Xolo Q1000 Opus powered by Broadcom BCM23550 later this month. Broadcom signed up for ARMv7 and ARMv8 Architecture licenses earlier this year and announced the chip back in June, which has four ARM Cortex A7 Cores. The chip has support for Broadcom’s BCM4334 connectivity combo chip with 3G HSPA+ (HSPDA: 21Mbps; HSUPA 5.8 Mbps) connectivity and and BCM4752 multi-constellation GNSS location chip. It also has support for NFC, up to 12MP imaging, Dual SIM support and 1080p HD video capture and playback. Xolo launched the Q900, the company latest mid-range smartphone in the Q CORE series few weeks back, we brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor with PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). Apart from the Camera, most of the specifications are almost similar to the Intex Aqua HD that we reviewed recently. Videocon has launched VT85C, the company’s latest tablet with voice calling capabilities. It appeared on the official website earlier this week, and has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. It has a SIM card slot for 3G connectivity and a ear piece for voice calling. It also comes with range of pre-loaded applications including Facebook, OperaMini, NQ Mobile Security, Vstore, Hungama and more. Facebook started rolling out an updated Messenger app for Android with a new design and a faster experience few weeks back for select users, now the iPhone has been updated to a new version that brings a similar design. This version has also been updated for iOS7 with custom in-app sounds. The startup time and overall speed and performance have also be improved. Now you can just tap across the bottom of the app to switch between the conversations, people and settings tabs. Motorola just officially announced the Moto G at an event in Sao Paulo in Brazil and also holding a satellite event in London where we should be getting our hands on the Moto G shortly. The company has also confirmed that the Moto G is indeed coming to India as soon as January 2014. The device is priced at an aggressive $179 price for a 8GB unlocked version in the US without any contract of any sort. The 16GB version costs just $20 more at $199. The India pricing is not yet available but we expect it to be announced closer to launch and hopefully under Rs.12500 which is probably one of the cheapest Android phones from an international handset maker.

LG announced the Optimus L1 II, an entry-level 3G phone in L Series II back in August, now the dual-SIM variant of the phone, the Optimus L1 II Dual is available in India from online retailer HomeShop18 . It has a 3.0-inch (320 x 240 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 2-megapixel rear camera with VGA video recording. It has QuickMemo app to jot notes quickly and Cheese Shutter to capture images using voice.
