Amazon India has announced that the YU YUREKA smartphone will be available today for select customers those who have shown a high level of interest to buy the smartphone but were unable to get it. The sale happens today, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 from 2 PM to 5 PM. Only registered customers who were unable to purchase the YUREKA will be eligible to participate in today’s sale and will receive an email from Amazon.in informing them of their access to the sale, said the company.

YU has rolled out the first Cyanogen OS update, XNPH05Q for the YUREKA smartphone in about three weeks after the smartphone went on sale, as it promised at the launch. YU today announced that it has sold 10,000 units of YU YURKA smartphones in just 3 seconds in the third flash sale on Amazon.in. It sold 15,000 units of Yureka smartphones in 4 seconds in its second flash sale last week. Next sale is scheduled for next Thursday, February 5th at 2PM. Registrations for the next sale will begin at 5PM today on Amazon. Users will have to register to participate in the weekly flash sale and registrations of previous sales will not be valid for future sales, said the company. The Yukrea has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with single LED Flash, 5P lenses, Sony Exmor RS IMX135 sensor, f/2.2 aperture and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, OmniVision 5648 sensor, 4P lenses and 71-degree wide viewing angle. Since it runs on Cyanogen OS, it comes with Cyanogen camera app that has several modes.

Micromax intelligently roped in Cyanogen Inc. for its first YU branded device and launched the YU YUREKA budget smartphone last month running Cyanogen OS at Rs. 8,999. Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G went on sale in India last month for Rs. 9,999. Both the smartphones are competitively priced and come with 4G connectivity. Here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor that has four ARM Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.54 GHz per core and other four Cortex A53 cores are clocked at 1.0 GHz per core. It has Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550 MHz. It has 2GB DDR3 RAM, 5.5-inch HD screen and runs on Cyanogen OS 11 based on Android 4.4.4 (KitKat). Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below.
