Xiaomi introduced the MIUI 12.5, the next intermediate MIUI update with a strong focus on system optimizations in China back in December, and the Global roll-out started in Q2 2021, and it continues to roll out to more devices. Redmi Note 10 gets fourth price hike in India, now starts at Rs. 13999

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 10 smartphone back in March this year in two variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage starting at a price of Rs. 11.999. In less than a month of third price hike, the company has increased the price of the phone once again by Rs. 500. It now starts at Rs. 13,999 for the base 4GB + 64GB version, so the total price hike since the launch is Rs. 2000. Xiaomi posts 84.4% YoY increase in profits in Q2 2021, acquires self-driving startup Deepmotion for $77.3 million

Xiaomi has reported its earning for the second quarter (Q2 2021) that ended June 30, 2021. It reported revenue of 87.8 billion yuan (US$ 13.56 billion), an increase of 64% compared to Q2 2020. Net profit for the quarter was approximately 6.3 billion yuan (US$1.28 billion), up 87.4% YoY. The company said that the total revenue and adjusted net profit both reached record highs in the quarter, demonstrating the excellence of the business model and the robustness of its operations. Mi Smart Band 6 Review

Xiaomi’s ‘Mi’ product series will be renamed to ‘Xiaomi’

Xiaomi has announced that its ‘Mi’ product line will be renamed to ‘Xiaomi’ starting from this Q3 2021 which ends in September. The company says that the change will unify its global brand presence and close the perception gap between the brand and its products. It added that the change may take some time to take effect in all regions. This already started with the MIX 4, which was launched in China earlier this month. After rumours, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has officially introduced the Redmi 10, the company’s latest smartphone in the budget Redmi series. It has a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with AdaptiveSync 90Hz (45/60/90Hz) refresh rate, is the first phone to be powered by MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. The phone has a 50MP rear camera, a first of its kind in its category, accompanied by 8MP ultra-wide camera, 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
