Xiaomi’s ‘Mi’ product series will be renamed to ‘Xiaomi’

Xiaomi has announced that its ‘Mi’ product line will be renamed to ‘Xiaomi’ starting from this Q3 2021 which ends in September. The company says that the change will unify its global brand presence and close the perception gap between the brand and its products. It added that the change may take some time to take effect in all regions. This already started with the MIX 4, which was launched in China earlier this month. Instead of Mi MIX 4, it is called Xiaomi MIX 4.

With the introduction of the new brand identity, Xiaomi and Redmi product series will be under the parent brand Xiaomi. The company also released updated logos with both the Xiaomi and Redmi logotypes under the parent brand logo to show the difference.

Xiaomi said that the product series naming convention — Xiaomi and Redmi — will also be applied to its ecosystem and IoT products over time.

In a statement, Xiaomi said:

Xiaomi products represent the pinnacle of technology and offer a premium experience. Redmi products bring big innovation at a more accessible price point and are aimed at younger audience.
