Xiaomi introduces 9.9mm sleek 5000mAh Mi Power bank

Few weeks after launching 16000mAh Mi Bank, Xiaomi has introduced a 5000mAh portable power bank with just 9.9mm thickness. It is compact, weighs 156 grams and fits easily even in your shirt pocket, says Xiaomi. It has the same brushed aluminium finish on the outside, similar to the other Mi Power banks and is designed by Texas Instruments. It has 9 circuit protection and offers enhanced charge-discharge efficiency. Xiaomi promises 93% charging conversion rate for the power bank.

At the Xiaomi Redmi Note launch event, the company has announced that the Redmi Note 4G would be launching in India soon. This has support for TD-LTE 2300MHz (Band 40) and FDD-LTE 1800MHz (Band 3) for India and is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 SoC, instead of Octa-Core MediaTek chip in the 3G variant. This has single SIM support, unlike the dual SIM 3G variant. It comes pre-loaded with Fleksy and SwiftKey keyboards. Xiaomi Redmi Note to go on sale on Flipkart on December 2nd for Rs. 8999

Mi India announced the Redmi Note smartphone in India at the Mi 3 launch event back in July. Today at an event in Delhi, the company has announced that the smartphone would go on sale at Rs. 8999 on Flipkart starting December 2nd. It would be a flash sale similar to the Mi 3 and the Redmi 1S, and the registrations for the sale would begin tomorrow, November 25th at 6PM. This is Rs. 1,000 lesser than the price Xiaomi announced last month, just like it did for the Mi3 and the Redmi 1S smartphones. There is a separate chartered plane to bring Redmi Note units later this week. This is the fourth time the company is bringing units from China to India using a chartered plane. Xiaomi clarifies it does not collect user data without permission
Xiaomi has clarified that its smartphones are not a security threat. The Chinese smartphone maker has made the clarification after the Indian Air Force (IAF) had issued a circular to its 175,000 personnel to shun the use of Xiaomi smartphones either by them, or their family members on suspicions that the company is using their phones to spy on its users on behalf of the Chinese government.
