The Samsung Gear Live was revealed for the first time by Google during the keynote at Google I/O 2014 and it is Samsung’s first Android Wear device. We managed to spend some time with the device at the event.Here is a short video of the Gear Live watch in action.Under the hood is a 1.2 Ghz processor paired with 512MB of RAM.

Samsung, though not part of the initial list of partners associated with Android Wear, surprised everyone by announcing the Gear Live yesterday, which has already gone on sale in the US today, and is no on pre-order in India, for a price of Rs. 15, 900. Following the design philosophy of its other Gear devices, this Android Wear based Smartwatch will be sold along with the LG G watch. Both the Korean giants have their own first Android Wear based Smartwatches out, but lets focus on the Gear live here, which adds the unique functionality to measure heart rate using the hear rate sensor on its back. It looks and feels pretty similar to the other Gear watches, unsurprisingly, so lets take a photo walkthrough of this device, straight from the I/O developer event in San Francisco.

Samsung Gear Live coming soon to India, gets priced at Rs.15900

Looks like the Samsung Gear live which went on Pre-order in the US is coming soon to India too. The Play store listing in India indicates that the Android wear device is coming soon to Indian shores and the store even has a price listed for the Gear Live at Rs.15900. It is interesting that the the Samsung Gear Live is priced more than the LG G Watch in India whereas it is actually priced lesser than the same in the US market.  It is worth mentioning Samsung already has some smartwatches in the market such as the Galaxy Gear which runs on Android and the newer Gear 2 , Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit which actually run on Tizen. The Gear Live marks the adoption of Android again by Samsung for a smartwatch product.  What is more interesting is that the new Gear Live works across Android phones and not restricted to just Samsung devices which actually gives the device a better chance in the market

Samsung Gear Live goes up or Pre-Order on Play Store in US, ships July 9th

The Samsung Android Wear device which was leaked before Google I/O was officially announced today during the keynote as the Samsung Gear Live which is the company’s first Android wear device. Unlike other Samsung smartwatches which work only with select Samsung Android phones, this watch will work on any Android phone running Android 4.3 and up which is interesting.It is also water and dust resistant.

Samsung’s Tizen based ZeQ smartphone leaked in new photo

Samsung announced its first Tizen based smartphone Z earlier this month. Today, photos of  Samsung ZeQ have surfaced via FCC who had approved the smartphone in December last year. The photo of the device that was first spotted by SamMobile shows NTT Docomo variant that was set for launch in Japan.

Samsung has announced Galaxy S5 Sport for Sprint in the U.S. It’s a variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Active with slight changes in the design and new colors. Otherwise it has similar hardware keys, IP67 water and dust resistant and specifications as the S5 Active including a 5.1-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and it runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung own UI on top. Samsung to reportedly announce its Android Wear smartwatch at Google I/O

Google announced Android Wear, its wearable platform back in March and also announced that it is working with several manufacturers, including Asus, HTC, LG, Motorola and Samsung to introduce watches powered by Android Wear this year. CNET is reporting that Samsung would unveil its first Android Wear watche at Google I/O next week. Samsung is working on both Exynos-powered and Qualcomm-powered Android smartwatch, according to the report. Samsung SM-G510F and Huawei G621 with 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC show up in Benchmarks

Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 410 SoC based on ARM Cortex A53 CPU. Recently Samsung SM-G510F and Huawei G621, upcoming smartphones with 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU has been spotted in benchmarks. The Samsung SM-G510F spotted in GFXBench listing (via) would come with a 4.8-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD screen, runs on Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Samsung Gear VR trademarks hints at upcoming Oculus Rift competitor

As Virtual Reality technology improves, we’re seeing an increasing level of attention from mainstream players. Following Sony’s lead that introduced its Project Morpheus headset to compete with the game changing Oculus Rift. Today, Samsung’s plans to enter the virtual reality headset market got a bit more concrete.

Samsung Gear 2 updated with blocking mode and improved S Health Mode

Samsung has updated its smartwatch Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo with few major features. The Tizen powered smartwatch adds Blocking Mode, which essentially enables users to mute notifications. Users can either keep the blocking mode active all the time or when they do not want to be disturbed. They can also set it to auto enable when you’re asleep. This feature is similar to the Blocking mode available on Samsung smartphones.

Samsung has finally unveiled the Galaxy S5 broadband LTE-A in Korea as expected. It has a 5.1-inch (2560 x1440 pixels) Super AMOLED display, powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has 3GB of RAM, compared to 2GB RAM on the Galaxy S5.
