ASUS Zenfone 5 with 6.2-inch FHD+ 19:9 bezel-less display, Snapdragon 636, 6GB RAM, dual rear cameras announced

ASUS just announced the Zenfone 5, the latest smartphone in new series at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, as expected. It has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ 19:9 Super IPS display with notch design and 90% screen-to-body ratio. The company says that it has AI Display with auto color temperate adjustment and smart screen on. It is powered by Snapdragon 636 with support for up to 6GB RAM and runs Android Oreo with ZenUI 5.0, which the company says is the cleanest ZenUI yet without any separate apps for browser, email, messaging and minimal third-party apps like Facebook and Instagram. ASUS today announced the Zenfone 5Z, the top-end smartphone in Zenfone 5 series at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, as expected. It has the same 6.2-inch Full HD+ 19:9 Super IPS display with notch design and 90% screen-to-body ratio with AI Display for auto color temperate adjustment, but this is powered by Snapdragon 845 SoC with support for up to 8GB RAM. Qualcomm Snapdragon 700 Mobile Platform Series with multi-core Qualcomm AI Engine announced

Qualcomm at the MWC 2018 announced Snapdragon 700 Mobile Platform Series with on-device Artificial Intelligence with multi-core Qualcomm AI Engine offering 2x improvements compared to Snapdragon 600 Series. Sony just announced the Xperia XZ2, the company’s latest flagship smartphone at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, few months after the introduction of the Xperia XZ1 at IFA. It has a 5.7-inch Full HD+ 18:9 HDR screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, is powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform and runs Android 8.0 (Oreo). It has a 3D glass body and features the same Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the back. It also has front facing stereo speakers with S-Force Front Surround. Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ with Quad HD+ Infinity display, dual aperture camera announced

Samsung just announced Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ smartphones at its Unpacked 2018 event at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, as it had promised. The main highlight of the smartphones is the variable aperture cameras. The S9 has a 12-megapixel rear camera with variable aperture tech that uses f/1.5 aperture for night shots for a brighter picture and f/2.4 aperture for normal shots in daytime. The S9+ has a secondary 12MP Telephoto lens for live focus for bokeh effect with background blur. Nokia 7 Plus Android One smartphone with 6-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 660, Dual ZEISS rear cameras announced

HMD Global introduced Nokia 7 Plus, Android One smartphone at the MWC 2018, as expected. It has a 6-inch 18:9 Full HD+ display, is powered by Snapdragon 660, has dual rear sensors with ZEISS optics that combine an ultra-sensitive 12MP wide-angle primary camera for both low-light and extra bright conditions and a secondary 13MP camera for 2x optical zoom.

Today at its MWC 2018 it introduced another Nokia 6 smartphone for global markets, which is an Android One smartphone. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, is powered by Snapdragon 630 Mobile platform, runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo), has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, ZEISS optics and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera. Qualcomm’s future Snapdragon 5G mobile chipsets to use Samsung’s 7nm LPP EUV process technology

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC that will power this year’s flagship smartphones is manufactured on second generation 10LPP process from Samsung. Today Samsung and Qualcomm has expanded its foundry partnership for on EUV process technology. With this partnership, Qualcomm has announced that future Snapdragon 5G mobile chipsets will use Samsung’s 7nm LPP EUV process technology. Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 VR reference design announced

Couple of months after the announcement of Snapdragon 845, Qualcomm today introduced new virtual reality (VR) reference platform based on Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform, ahead of Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 in Barcelona next week. Similar to last year’s Snapdragon 835 VR platform, it is partnering with GoerTek that allows for global manufacturers to quickly build commercial designs based on the Snapdragon 845 Mobile VR Platform.
