Apple and Samsung reportedly fail to reach an agreement in mediation talks

In unsurprising news of this week, a lot of Korean websites and news papers are reporting that top level executives from Samsung and Apple have failed to reach an agreement in their mediation talks. Apple and Samsung have been battling it out in the courts for a long while now, and that’s not a secret. Apple had accused Samsung of various IP infringements including the hotly debated “Trade Dress”, but the Judge had decided to give both the companies the option to resolve their tussle through mediation talks. If the reports are true, those talks just failed and both the companies with be back to the courts, with Samsung defending Apple’s claims again.

Motorola has finally started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Dual SIM Moto G users in India. Motorola promised that the India users would get the update in a few weeks, at the launch, earlier this month. The Android 4.4.2 update was first released for the single SIM US variant first, back in December and it started rolling out in Europe, again for the single SIM variant last month. Intex Aqua Octa Camera Samples

Intex launched the Aqua Octa, India’s first MediaTek Octa-Core powered smartphone last month. We already brought you the unboxing, benchmarks and the photo gallery of the Aqua Octa. Here are the camera samples. It has a 13-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and full HD video recording, but the 5-megapixel front-facing camera can record videos only at VGA resolution. It has a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.7 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali 450-MP4 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Lenovo Vibe Z Unboxing

The Lenovo K900 was the Chinese company’s first flagship launch in India. It had really good specifications for a high end phone and launched at a competitive price, only to then get lesser and suddenly turn into a really good value for money device. We had been waiting for its successor for quite a while now, and now it has come in the form of the Lenovo Vibe Z, which aims to fill the gap the K900 has left in the Indian market. The Vibe Z was announced in India just a couple of days back, at an event which we attended. It has been priced at Rs. 35,999, which is very close to what the K900 was launched for. We had taken a good look at the Vibe Z aka K910 at the Consumer electronics show in Vegas, but the phone was announced in China way back in October. BlackBerry smartphone powered by 64-bit Octa-Core chip rumored to arrive in September

BlackBerry would launch a smartphone powered by a 64-bit Octa-Core chip, according to a recent report from the pocket-lint. Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 which was the Exynos 5410, its first Octa-Core chip with fours Cortex A15 chips and four Cortex A7 chips. Later it released an upgraded Exynos 5420 on the Note 3. Recent rumors from N4BB revealed that the BlackBerry phone would run on the upcoming Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994) chip. Sony Xperia T, TX, V and SP Android 4.3 update starts rolling out

Sony Mobile started rolling out the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update for the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z Ultra back in December, the Sony Xperia Z, Xperia ZL, Xperia ZR and the Xperia Tablet Z got the update at the end of December. It rolled out the Android 4.3 for the SP in several countries including India earlier this week, now the company announced that it is also rolling out the Android 4.3 update for the Xperia T, Xperia TX and the Xperia V. Intex Aqua Octa Photo Gallery

Intex Aqua Octa is the Indian company’s foray into the huge screen 6″ phablet market, and is also one of the first devices to sport the Octa core processor from MediaTek. We had unboxed it earlier, to show you the box contents and a quick overview of the device, but this time around, we will show a walkthrough of the phone in clear photos. This 6 inch device from Intex is pretty unique. It looks like a really slim unibody phone but actually has a removable back cover and a replaceable battery, while managing to be light at the same time. It also has a sleek design over at the front, with a dark IPS screen and a metal rim, so how does it look from all the sides? Lets find out.

HP Slate 7 VoiceTab Hands On

The HP Slate 7 VoiceTab is the other device that HP launched today alongside the Slate 6 VoiceTab. Practically the same under the hood, the Slate 7 goes for a lower price point and a larger screen size. The tablet also enables voice calls and 3G functionality which isn’t something unheard of but is nice to have nonetheless. As global PC shipments drop, HP is making a push to re-enter the highly lucrative smartphone market. With the launch of the HP Slate 6 VoiceTab and the Slate 7 VoiceTab, the company have their sights set on the midrange phablets which is a segment that is currently dominated by local upstarts. Competition from global brands is heating up in the midrange 6inch phablet segment as Nokia too introduced its Lumia 1320 recently. We got to spend some time with HP’s new Slate 6 VoiceTab and here are our impressions.

Using BBM on an Android or iOS device? You have reason to be delighted as the company is rolling out version 2.0 of its popular messenger application. The headline feature here is of course support for BBM Voice. The service allows users to place voice calls over WiFi and cellular connections for free and helps connect BBM users across the world.

Additionally, the new update also brings BBM Channels to both Android and iOS. The service that was launched earlier last year allows users to engage in conversation with like minded BBM users on topics of common interest. Dell Venue tablets get free stylus and movie tickets in Valentine’s day offer

It’s Valentine’s day tomorrow, so a lot of companies are planning to cash in on the massive gift exchanges that will happen. Dell, which launched its new Venue range of tablets sometime last month, wants you to buy your lover one of them, and as an advantage, you will get a stylus for free. This offer will be valid for today and tomorrow only, with a free capacitive stylus and movie tickets for the day, but that’s about it. Dell had launched the Android based Venue 7 and Venue 8 tablets, along with the Windows based Venue 8 Pro tablet in India, but it seems like only the Android ones are getting this offer.
