Nokia Lumia 630 and Lumia 630 Dual SIM, the company’s latest handsets in the Lumia series has been launched in India. These smartphones were announced last month and packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA ClearBlack IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and runs on Windows Phone 8.1. These have a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording and support for a range of camera apps, including Nokia Camera. Ari Partinen, Nokia’s Camera Expert moves to Apple

Ari Partinen, the man instrumental behind some of the most iconic camera centric devices to come out of Nokia just announced his departure from the company. Not one to leave much to doubt, he also confirmed that his next destination will be Cupertino, California. Senior Lumia engineer, Ari has worked on game changing devices like the Nokia N8, PureView 808 and the Lumia 1020. Partinen’s experience stretches from camera module production all the way to tuning final image quality and has worked on tuning at the ISP level for some of Nokia’s biggest projects. Nokia Lumia 520 deflects a bullet to save police officer’s life

The world’s most popular Windows Phone turned into a life saver for a police man in Sao Paulo, Brazil where a couple of robbers opened fire at him in his house. The Lumia 520, which was sitting in his back pocket took a bullet, and in the end saved his life, and literally his behind too. Nokia, being known for its build quality, will certainly take this as a positive result, but we are sure any phone would have done the same.

Samsung Galaxy K zoom vs Nokia Lumia 1020 Hands On

Today, Samsung announced the successor of the Galaxy S4 zoom as a new Samsung Galaxy K zoom. The main talking point of this camera centric device is the 20.7 Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 4.4-44mm lens with 10x optical zoom, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) and Xenon Flash. The Galaxy K zoom features a much better packaging (relatively) and better specifications than the yesteryear predecessor – Galaxy S4 zoom. We will be comparing it with the Nokia Lumia 1020.

Nokia completes sale of Device & Services business to Microsoft

Announced first on 3rd September 2013, the sale of Nokia’s Devices & Services business to Microsoft is now complete. With the completion of the deal, Nokia will cease to manufacture smartphones and will also transfer the Asha and Lumia brand name to Microsoft. Nokia to complete it’s sale to Microsoft on 25th April

The long drawn affair of Nokia’s sale to Microsoft will finally come to a close on 25th April. Having received the go ahead from all regulatory bodies, the company today announced that the transaction will finally be completed on 25th April when Nokia Oy will be rebranded as Microsoft Mobile Oyj. The acquisition is meant to help Microsoft have a stronger foothold in the mobile space and to help push adoption of Windows Phone running devices. Nokia launched the Nokia X in India last month priced at Rs. Rs. 8599. It received a price cut recently and is available for as low as Rs. 7027.
