Android Jelly Bean coming to the HTC One X and One S

HTC just confirmed that a majority of its recent smartphones will get upgraded to Android Jelly Bean. The handsets mentioned include the HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S. This is great news for owners of HTC devices seeing that almost no other manufacturer has committed to an upgrade path for their phones.

HTC to offer Indian language support for Desire C, Desire V and One Series phones

HTC has announced that they would roll out full language support for Hindi, Tamil and Marathi for their latest Desire C and Desire V Android smartphones and the HTC One Series including One X, One S and One V in India. HTC officially launched the Desire C last month and the Desire V went on sale in India at the same time. HTC reports 58% drop in profit for Q2 2012

Things don’t look very good for smartphone maker HTC which has declared a pretty steep drop in profit compared to the same period last year when it posted record profit. Profit for Q2 2012 stood at NT$7.4 billion versus NT$17.5 billion profit in Q2 2011. That is a drop of about 57.7% in profit – ouch ! Although we are a big fan of the HTC One series mainly the One X and One S, looks like it’s not doing so well in the market. Seems like Samsung is dominating the Android phone market.

HTC doesn’t violate Apple patents says UK Judge

Judge Christopher Floyd from a UK court has ruled that HTC does not violate four patents as claimed by Apple. This includes the infamous slide to unlock claim. More interestingly, the judge says that three of the four patents are not valid.

HTC EVO 3D Android 4.0 update starts rolling out in India

HTC has announced on the their Facebook page that they have stared rolling out Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for EVO 3D in India. The HTC EVO 3D was launched in India last August at at hefty price tag of Rs.35,990 (MRP) and later got a price cut that brought the price down to Rs. 25,000. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month and started rolling out Android 4.0 update for Sensation XL India earlier this week. HTC Sensation XL Android 4.0 update starts rolling out in India

HTC India has announced on their Facebook Page that the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Over the Air (OTA) update is now rolling out in India. HTC announced the global Android 4.0 update schedule last month. This update would bring new features including HTC Sense 3.6, customizable launcher in the home-screen,  new lock screen functions,  music controls in the notification bar, new multi-tasking / recent apps screen and more new features. HTC Desire C officially launched in India for Rs. 14,999


HTC has officially launched the Desire C, their new Android smartphone with Beats Audio and  Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4.0. It was announced last month and went on sale in India from online retailer earlier this month. It comes with 3.5-inch (320 x480 pixels) display and is powered by 600 MHz processor. It has 5MP camera and is just 12.25 mm thick. It has durable metal frame and has hyper-viewing angle display and metal camera bezel.

HTC Desire V Dual SIM Smartphone now available in India for Rs. 21,999

HTC Desire V that was announced earlier this month is now available in India from online retailer Flipkart. The HTC Desire V is a Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) phone with Dual Standby but not Dual Active like the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos. It pack in a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1GHZ single-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4.0 UI. HTC One S officially launched in India for Rs. 33,590

 

HTC has officially launched the One S in India. It was announced the One S at MWC 2012 and it went on sale in India from online retailers earlier this week. It has 4.3-inch (540×960 pixels) AMOLED display, 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon S3 processor, 8MP auto focus camera with flash, 1080p HD video recording and VGA front-facing. It runs on Android 4.0 ICS with HTC Sense 4 UI. HTC to launch Windows Phone 8-enabled smartphones later this year


HTC has announced that their partnership with Microsoft to launch new devices Windows Phone 8 devices. These new phones would be powered by Qualcomm chips and would probably come with a dual-core processors and have high-resolution displays. HTC One S now available in India for Rs. 33,000

HTC One S is now available in India from online retailer Saholic. HTC announced the One S at MWC 2012 and the price of One S for India was revealed on TheMobileStore last month. The Saholic site says it has 1.5GHz dual-core processor, but according to HTC India site, it comes with 1.7 GHz processor which is Snapdragon S3 instead of S4 in some countries like US and UK.  It runs on Android 4.0 ICS with HTC Sense 4 and has 4.3-inch (540×960 pixels) display, Beats Audio, and the same 8MP auto focus camera with flash, 1080p HD video recording and VGA front-facing camera present in the One X. The HTC comes with 3.5-inch HVGA display and is powered by 600 MHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with Sense 4 and comes with Beats audio support. It has 5MP camera. HTC One X – HTC’s next big thing?

I remember seeing the HTC One X for the first time in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress, announced from Peter Chou himself. I was a little bit confused at first. This announcement didn’t exactly sound like HTC. New materials, new tech, new direction. I was surprised and I gotta say, HTC did a nice job in keeping their word. The One X felt so different from the rest of their smartphones, which all kinda looked the same. Fast forward and here’s me, sitting with my own One X, yes I have indeed purchased one. My colour of choice was white, as it just looks extremely charming. It is officially announced in Ukraine and Indonesia and features a 4-inch WVGA touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense 4. It is powered by 1GHz single-core Qualcomm processor and has 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash and has Beats audio support. It is 9.3 mm thick and weighs 114 g. Sony renames Playstation Suite to Playstation Mobile ,brings HTC on board

At E3 , Sony has just renamed its mobile gaming center from Playstation Suite to Playstation Mobile signifying a shift towards embracing more OEMs. In addition to the rebranding , Sony has announced HTC as its first partner to bring Playstation Mobile certified handsets.
