Google Chromecast 3 launched in India for Rs. 3499

Google has quietly launched its third-generation Chromecast, after it was introduced at the Pixel event earlier this month. It still has a circular design with built-in HDMI cable and it comes with Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4GHz/5Ghz) support, however the Wi-Fi reception has been improved with maximum antenna gain of 4dBi compared to Chromecast 2’s 2.1dBi gain, which is about 50% improvement.

According to documents obtained by ‘The Verge,’ a confidential fee schedule shows the cost as high as $40 per device to install the “Google Mobile Services” suite of apps, which includes the Google Play Store. Google Pixel 3 XL teardown reveals Samsung’s OLED display

Following the tradition, iFixit has performed a teardown of the Pixel 3 XL giving some insight into the phone’s hardware. Interestingly, it is found that the Pixel 3 XL is using an OLED panel from Samsung. iFixit also mentioned that it is fairly difficult to open the Pixel 3 XL, due to copious amounts of foam adhesive. Google to charge smartphone manufacturers in Europe for using its app suite

Back in July European Commision has fined Google with $5.04 billion for misusing its position and forcing its apps on Android manufacturers. While Google appealed the decision last week, it is also working on how to comply with the decision.
