Following the footsteps of Apple, Google and Windows, BlackBerry has announced its own digital voice assistant. Dubbed simply as ‘BlackBerry Assistant’, the company has introduced it for BB 10.3 OS. The voice assistant will debut on BlackBerry Passport that was announced recently.

BBM for Windows Phone arrived on Windows Phone Store in the form of private Beta earlier this week. Today BlackBerry has started accepting registrations for the testing the beta version of BBM for Windows Phone that would be available soon for all. Other than BBM Chats with ability to share pictures, voice notes and contacts , BBM for Windows Phone would have BBM Groups, Broadcast messages and more. BlackBerry launched the BlackBerry Z3, its latest smartphone in the Z series in India at the end of June for Rs. 15,990. We already brought the photo gallery of the Z3 from the launch event ,couple of weeks back. Here we have the unboxing of the smartphone. The BlackBerry Z10, the company’s first full-touch BlackBerry 10 device had a 4.2-inch display, but the Z3 comes with a 5-inch display and a larger 2500 mAh battery that promises better battery life compared to the Z10. BlackBerry has launched the BlackBerry Z3, the company’s latest budget smartphone in the Z series, as we reported last week. It was announced earlier this year at the MWC and is one of the first BlackBerry smartphones made by Foxconn. It packs a 5-inch qHD screen, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1.5GB RAM. At BlackBerry’s earnings call earlier this week, CEO John Chen revealed some vital statistics relating to their popular messaging application. Called BlackBerry Messenger or BBM, the service has crossed 160 million registered users. Out of these 85 million are active monthly users. Canadian smartphone manufacturer, BlackBerry, announced its financial results for Q1 2015 earlier today. The results while not entirely positive, prove to be marginally encouraging.
BlackBerry has managed to stem its losses for the most part. Revenues were $966 million which is a 1% drop Quarter on Quarter. The revenue breakdown can be explained as 39% towards hardware, 54% towards services and 7% for software. The company has a cash and investments balance equivalent to $3.1 billion which is up from $2.7 billion in the previous fiscal. BlackBerry India has launched a new exchange offer for BlackBerry Z30 in India. Under this offer, customers can get the smartphone for Rs. 29,990 after a minimum cashback of Rs. 5,000 in exchange of an old working smartphone. The company reduced the price of BlackBerry Z30 to Rs. 34,990 back in March celebrating its 10th anniversary of its foray into the Indian market from the launch price of Rs. 39,990. Yesterday BlackBerry tied up with Amazon to bring the Amazon app store to BlackBerry OS BlackBerry 10 soon. The company also announced that it would shut down its BlackBerry Music and video stores on July 21st. Both these sections were launched along with the BlackBerry 10 last year.
