After Asus Padfone Infinity that was launched at MWC 2013 earlier this year, Asus is back with the Padfone mini, a small version of the Padfone with a smaller docking station. Asus has sent out press invites to media outlets for the Padfone mini launch on December 11th in Taipei, Taiwan. The small docking station to dock the Padfone mini is expected to pack a 7-inch screen and is likely to come with a built-in battery, similar to the original Padfone station. Asus and Google launch the new Nexus 7 in India officially

The new Nexus 7 (2013) manufactured by Asus went on sale on the Play Store in India last month along with the Nexus 5. Now the company has officially launched the latest Nexus 7 tablet in India. It has a 7-inch 16:10 Full HD (1920 x 1200 WUXGA) display with 10-finger multi-touch, powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064-1AA, with Krait 300 cores) processor clocked at 1.5GHz and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean), which already got the KitKat update. Google started selling the Nexus 7 (2013) on the Play Store in India few hours back. It also listed Sleeve in India Play Store along with the price. The Nexus 7 Sleeve has Neoprene and microfiber cushion and features an asymmetrical zipper for quick and easy access. The Sleeve is also padded for cushioning and lined with soft microfiber fur for a complete protection from scratches. It also has a pocket to keep your accessories. Google Nexus 7 2013 32GB LTE Version priced at Rs.25999, coming soon to India

Google seems to be taking India seriously finally regarding launching new devices. The Nexus 5 which went on sale in the US recently is listed on the Google India Play Store as coming soon with even a price tag. Now the Nexus 7 2013 edition seems to have gotten a price on the  microsite for the product which was spotted by BGR India . Interestingly only the 4G LTE / Cellular version of the Nexus 7 2013 has gotten a Indian price, the WiFi versions have not got a price yet. The 32GB 4G LTE version which will work over our 3G/HSPA+ networks too is expected to be launched at Rs.25999. The tablet is sold in the US for a price of 349 USD which works out to roughly about Rs.23000 including taxes, so it seems like a  fairly decent price for the tablet India if you factor the import duty and shipping costs.

Asus has launched the Fonepad 7, the company’s latest tablet in India. It was announced as the successor of the Fonepad at the IFA 2013 in Berlin last month and packs a 7-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) IPS display with new smudge-resistant coating to prevent fingerprints, runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor with Hyper-Threading technology. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p full HD video recording and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. Google Nexus 7 gets a price cut, 16GB WiFi only version now available for Rs. 9,999

Google Nexus 7 was launched in India quite late and went for sale at Rs. 15,999 for the 16GB WiFi version. Around a couple of months back, Google announced their second version of Nexus 7 as the Google Nexus 7 2013 with an upgraded processor and a much better display. Earlier in July, just after the announcement of new Nexus 7, Amazon had slashed the price of Nexus 7 to Rs. 11,999 for the 16GB version.Now, Amazon and Flipkart, two popular giants of India’s eCommerce market slashed the price of original Nexus 7 to just Rs. 9,999 for the 16GB version.

Asus announces the new Padfone Infinity with a 5-inch 1080p display and Snapdragon 800 processor

Asus has finally announced the new Padfone Infinity at an event in Taipei as they promised last week. The new Padfone Infinity is the fourth device in the Padfone series that lets you dock the phone in the Padfone station to convert it into a tablet. The new Padfone Infinity packs a 5-inch Full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display similar to the last-gen device, but this is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. I was in Berlin, Germany for IFA 2013 last week and managed to pick an LTE version of the Nexus 7 2013 which is currently on sale only in a few countries including Germany and UK. We had already unboxed the WiFi only version previous on FoneArena and like always we are always excited about any device with a SIM card slot and here we have the unboxing of the Nexus 7 2013 LTE version.

Asus to launch the new Padfone Infinity on September 17th

Asus has uploaded a new video teaser for the new Padfone on their YouTube channel. Asus has also revealed that the new Padfone is landing on September 17th. Engadget reports that they have received an invite for the new Padfone Infinity event in Taipei next Tuesday. The new teaser doesn’t reveal anything, but the leaked specifications of the Asus Padfone Infinity A86 reveals that the device would come with a Snapdragon 800 processor. The Asus Fonepad Note 6 is a 6inch phablet that comes with a 6inch Full HD display and is powered by an Intel Atom dual-core processor. To be a true Galaxy Note competitor, it comes with a Stylus. Asus MeMO Pad 8 vs Apple iPad Mini

Asus announced the MeMO Pad 8 (ME180A) at the IFA 2013 in Berlin last week. Apple launched the iPad mini, the company’s first 7.9 inch display last year. Since these two tablets are almost similar in the size, we managed do a hands on comparison at the IFA. The Asus MeMO Pad 8 has a 8-inch HD LED Backlit IPS multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixel at 188 ppi pixel density. The iPad mini has a 7.9-inch LED Backlit IPS multi-touch display with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixel at 162 ppi pixel density. The Memo Pad 8 uses a quad-core quad-core MediaTek MT8125 Cortex A7 chip clocked at 1.6 GHz with PowerVR SGX5 series GPU and runs on Android 4.2.2, while the iPad mini comes with a dual-core Cortex A7 chip with PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU and runs on iOS 6.

Google Nexus 7 (2013) vs Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 311

Today we have the new Google Nexus 7 (2013) against Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 3 311. The new Nexus 7 was launched in July and is yet to be available in India while the Galaxy Tab 3 was launched in July and has been available since then in India.

The Nexus 7 comes with an upgraded processor, much better display and a rear camera which was absent in its predecessor while the Galaxy Tab 3 has Samsung’s Exynos SoC.
