Apple said to shift 20% of production capacity to India, aims for $40 billion revenue in the next 5 years

Apple may be on track to increase India’s local manufacturing revenue to nearly $40 billion over the next 5 years, as a result of the Government of India’s Production Linked Incentive scheme (PLI) for large scale electronics manufacturing. The scheme will be largely availed by two of Apple’s contract manufacturers, namely Winstron and Foxconn.

Apple schedules virtual WWDC 2020 for June 22

After confirming that its 31st annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will take place in June in a new online format due COVID-19, Apple has announced that the virtual WWDC 2020 conference will begin June 22. Apple reports $11.2 billion profit on $58.3 billion revenue in FY Q2 2020, iPhone sales decline due to COVID-19

Apple has reported quarterly revenue of $58.3 billion, up 1% over last year with a net profit of $11.2 billion, down 3.11% YoY and earnings per diluted share of $2.55 for the financial year Q2 2020 that ended March 28, 2020. During earnings call Tim Cook said that it has posted an all-time record Services revenue of $13.3 billion with all-time records in many of Services categories and in most countries. Apple settles $18 million lawsuit over iPhone 4 FaceTime issue

Apple has agreed to settle a $18 million lawsuit that was filed over 3 years ago over its handling of FaceTime with users having an iPhone 4 or an iPhone 4s. The claimants argued that the company had disabled FaceTime in the older iPhone models as a cost saving measure in 2014.
