Amazon Prime Video Mobile Edition launched in India at Rs. 89 per month

Amazon Prime Video has launched Prime Video Mobile Edition, a new single-user, mobile-only plan at an introductory price of Rs. 89 per month first time in India.  The plan provides SD quality streaming through the Prime Video app on Android or iOS, which the company says is created especially for a mobile-first country like India. Amazon acquires podcast platform Wondery

Amazon has announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire podcast publisher Wondery, and will soon feature their podcasts directly on the Amazon Music app. Wondery podcasts will continue to be available on other platforms, however when streaming from Amazon Music, it will come with a few benefits.

Amazon Fire TV update brings User profiles, faster UI, Find Destination and more

Amazon has begun rolling out a new and pretty big update to their Fire TV software, bringing a redesigned interface and loads of new features such as Find destination, user Profiles along with new voice commands for the Alexa voice-assistant. The update will be rolling out to Fire TV Stick (3rd gen) and Fire TV Stick Lite.

Amazon Fire TV Stick 3rd Gen Review

A couple of months back, Amazon launched the successor to the popular Fire TV Stick – The Amazon Fire TV Stick 3rd Gen along with a ‘Lite’ version and it has been on sale in India since mid-October. The new Fire TV Stick and the Fire TV Stick Lite are powered by a faster 1.7 GHz quad-core processor with IMG GE8300 GPU that is 50% more powerful than the previous generation. These offer 1080p HDR streaming, support Dolby Audio, and more. I have been using the device for quite some time now, and here’s my Amazon Fire TV Stick 3rd Gen Review.

Amazon Smart Plug Review — Easiest way to remotely control your appliances

If you are looking for the easiest way to remotely control your domestic appliances, the Amazon Smart Plug might be of interest to you. I have tried smart plugs and power strips from several companies over the past few years and it is good to finally see a product from Amazon which is the creator of Alexa and has smart devices under the Echo and Fire line-up. Amazon had announced a similar product in the US market almost 2 years ago at a similar price of $25 and continues to sell it. Now the Amazon Smart Plug has been launched it in India and I have been using it for a while now. Here are my thoughts on the device and if it makes sense to invest in one.

Amazon introduces 4th generation spherical shaped Echo, Echo dot and Echo dot with clock starting at Rs. 4499

Amazon has announced refreshes to their Echo line of smart speakers with the launch of the Echo (4th Gen), Echo Dot (4th Gen) and the Echo Dot (4th Gen) with clock. They all have design refreshes in a new spherical shape, improved sound quality and bass, a  tap-to-snooze feature and a Low Power Mode for power savings.
