Pocket 5.0 arrived for iPhone and iPad last week, now the Android app has been updated to version 5.0. The new update brings streamlined navigation and an enhanced user experience including Highlights that uses Pocket’s insights to surface the best and most relevant content that’s already saved in your list, new side navigation lets you Jump to your List, Highlights, Tags, Favorites and Archive, and quickly filter your content and simplified search. Highlights feature would be available to all the users over the coming weeks.

Nokia has finally released WhatsApp for Asha 501 through a software update as the company promised at the Nokia World last month. WhatsApp launcher will appear on your home screen after the update that lets you download and install the full app. In addition to the WhatsApp support, the major software update also brings the new UI and features present on the recently announced Nokia Asha 500, 502 and the 503 and WhatsApp comes pre-loaded on all these devices out of the box.

Waze – crowd sourced traffic and navigation app now available for Windows Phone

Waze, the crowd sourced traffic navigation app, was recently bought by Google for its own mapping data. The Waze team however had launched their Beta testing well before the acquisition, so as a result, we now have a fully featured and bug-fixed Waze navigation app for Windows Phone. Easily the most awaited app launch for Windows Phone is here. Yes, Instagram is now available for download on the Windows Phone 8 platform. It has been conveniently labeled a “BETA” as it most definitely lacks video support at launch, but if the developers at Instagram are to be believed, the new feature are coming in fast, so there’s no reason to worry. Just ahead of the holiday season, it’s good that Windows Phone finally has the most wanted app, even though in a public BETA, on it’s store.

Twitter has updated both the Android (v 5.0) and iPhone (v5.13) apps with new Search Filters that help you quickly find exactly the Tweets and people you’re looking for. Twitter released v5.0 Beta for Android back in September for a closed group that brought new UI, Navigation menu and more, looks like it has dropped the idea to bring the new UI to 5.0 update in the stable version. The stable v5.0 update doesn’t have the new UI or any Navigation menu. Both these apps were updated with in-line image and video previews few weeks back. Xbox One Smartglass apps for Windows Phone and Windows 8 released ahead of launch

The Xbox One is all set to release on November 22nd in 13 countries, and as a precursor, Microsoft has unveiled the new Xbox One Smartglass app for Windows Phone and Windows 8 devices. The Smartglass v2 is a massive improvement over the previous version that worked with the Xbox 360. It now talks directly to the console via WiFi Direct, whereas previously, it needed internet and your live ID to talk to the console and there was always a bit of lag sending over commands or executing actions. Now that the latency is massively reduced, the handshake and resuming of connections between the game and the Smartglass app should be very quick and seamless. In case you didn’t know, Smartglass is the definitive second screen screen experience for the Xbox, with keyboard input, touch control and second screen apps for games and videos taking center stage.

Viber now available for Nokia Asha 308, Asha 310 and Asha 311

Viber cross-platform VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) app is finally available for select Nokia Asha devices, Asha 308, Asha 310 and Asha 311. In addition to voice calls over 3G or WiFi, the app also lets you send messages, photos, location and also supports groups. It also offers notifications for new incoming messages. The app was released for iPhone, and was released for Android in 2011. It was updated to version 4.0 for both Android and iPhone last week that brought Sticker Market, Android Tablet support and more.

Nokia Camera App gets DNG support in the latest update

When Nokia unveiled the Nokia Lumia 1520 at the Abu Dhabi event a month ago, some of the important features of Lumia 1520 were its PureView camera and Lumia Black software update. Today, Nokia has updated its Nokia Camera app and the update v4.4.0.8 brings along with it, support for DNG capture (Digital Negative Format) for Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1020 which are running on Lumia Black update.

Vine for Windows Phone 8 now available for download

Vine, the highly popular video-based social network, finally has made available its app for the Windows Phone platform. Announced back at the Build conference, the app was shown off recently at the Lumia 1520 and 2520 launch event by Nokia, and it was promised that the app will be arriving soon to the platform, someday. Well, that day is today, and the app is finally live on the Windows Phone Store.
