Twitter launches Periscope live streaming app for iPhone

Twitter has launched Periscope, a new app for iPhone that lets you stream live videos. You can sign up using Twitter and share the broadcast link to your followers, but you can’t watch the stream directly on Twitter yet. Twitter silently acquired Periscope earlier this year. This app competes directly with Meerkat, and the Periscope app lets you replay the broadcasts when it’s over, which the Meerkat app lacks. Amazon planning to offer paid apps for free via “Unlocked” program

With an aim to bolster its Appstore installs, Amazon is said to be launching a new “Unlocked” program, as per Tech Crunch.  This service will offer paid apps and games absolutely free.

The report describes Unlocked as “Amazon Prime for apps,” and it would offer paid apps for free, and even unlock all in-app purchases for “free-to-play” games.
