WhatsApp goes completely free, not planning to introduce ads

WhatsApp today announced that will no longer charge subscription fees for using the service. It also said it will not be introducing third-party ads to compensate. Instead, it will start testing tools so that you can use WhatsApp to communicate with businesses and organizations such as banks, to know if your recent transaction was fraudulent, or chat with an airline to ask about a delayed flight.

Google has updated the Google Now launcher with landscape support on phones, which is now back after it was tested in Marshmallow developer preview. You can enable the new feature by enabling the ‘Allow rotation’ option in the settings. Some on-screen elements like the persistent search bar will adjust to accommodate each layout and the items in the dock also rotate individually to stack along the right side of the screen.
