Samsung Galaxy S III sales hit 20 million units

Samsung has just issued a press release saying that sales of the Galaxy S III have surpassed 20 million units. The South Korean handset maker managed to hit this goal in just 100 days. They say that’s 6x faster than the original Galaxy S, and 3x faster than the Galaxy S II. The company even breaks things down by territory: 6 million units in Europe, 4.5 million in Asia, 4 million in North America, and finally 2.5 million in the country that they call home. Samsung Galaxy S Duos and Galaxy Y Duos Lite launched in India for Rs. 17900 and Rs. 6990

Samsung has launched the Galaxy S Duos and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite, Dual SIM phones in India. The Galaxy S Duos was announced last month and the Galaxy Y Duos Lite would launch in some European countries as Galaxy Pocket Duos. The Galaxy S Duos comes with a 4.0-inch WVGA (480×800) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). The Galaxy Y Duos Lite comes with similar features as the Galaxy Pocket, other than the Dual SIM (GSM + GSM) support. It has a 2.8-inch (240 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It is powered by a 832MHz processor and has a 2MP fixed focus camera at the back.

Google Maps for Android gets Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic in India

Google has started rolling out 2 new features, Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation and Live Traffic updates for the Google Maps for Android in India. The Voice guided turn-by-turn Navigation would be helpful while driving or walking. You can click the navigate button after you request for a destination. You can also turn the voice navigation off or select alternative routes. This feature was introduced back in 2009. Huawei MediaPad 7 Lite with 7-inch IPS display, Android 4.0 announced

Huawei has announced MediaPad 7 Lite, their new tablet in the MediaPad lineup. It has metal uni-body design and comes with a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) IPS mult-touch display. It is powered by a  1.2GHz Cortex A8 processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), and comes with a 3.2 MP rear camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera. It has 3G support with cellular voice function, SMS and MMS. Horn for Android NVIDIA Tegra optimized game now available for Download


HORN, a 3rd person action adventure game that was announced at the Google I/O 2012 back in June, is now available for the devices that are powered by NVIDIA Tegra 3 and Tegra 2 processors. It uses Unreal Gaming Engine 3, developed by Phosphor Games and published by Zynga. You play a young blacksmith’s apprentice named Horn, and you need to fight the enemies with sword, crossbow, trusty musical horn, explore the lands, and solve puzzles. ZTE has announced Grand X IN that is powered by 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor (Medfield Z2460 platform) similar to the Lava Xolo X900 that launched in India in April and the Lenovo LePhone K800 that went on sale in China in May. The ZTE Grand X IN packs in a 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels), 16M colors, TFT, Capacitive touch screen display, and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). HTC Desire X gets a pre-order price in UK

HTC announced the Desire X few hours ago, and the online retailer Clove UK has announced that they are now taking pre-orders for the device. It comes with a 4.0-inch (800 X 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display and is powered by 1 GHz Dual-core processor. It runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and has a 5MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, but it records videos only at WVGA resolution, and not at 720p HD resolution. HTC Desire X: Think of it as a low end One V, minus the chin

Yesterday Samsung and Sony announced a plethora of new smartphones. Today it’s HTC turn to show off the goods. According to The Verge, HTC has just unveiled the Desire X. It has a 4 inch 800 x 480 screen, a dual core 1 GHz processor, 768 MB of RAM, and a 5 megapixel camera that can’t even record video at anything higher than VGA resolution. HTC isn’t saying how much the Desire X is going to cost, which makes it difficult for us to say whether or not this thing is worth buying. The dual core processor, which is designed by Qualcomm, actually uses two ARM Cortex A5 cores. They should deliver decent performance, but again, without a price tag it’s very difficult to judge this product.
