Cinemagram, one of the popular iPhone apps is finally available for Android. This app lets you  record a short looping 4s video, apply effects and share the GIFs to Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr. It has likes, comments, hashtags and more just like Instagram that was launched for Android last year. Micromax has officially launched the A72 Canvas Viva, the company’s latest budget Android smartphone in the budget series. The Micromax A72 surfaced online earlier this week, and went on sale online couple of days back. It packs a 5-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz single-core MediaTek MT6515 processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It ccomes with 2G (EDGE) support, has a 3-megapixel camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Hindi and English language support. Karbonn Smart Tab TA-FONE A37 went on sale online earlier today, now Karbonn Smart Tab TA-FONE A34 is on sale from online retailer Infibeam.  It has a 7-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display similar to the A37, but it comes with a 1GHz single-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has 2G support, voice calling and SMS through dual SIM card slots similar to the Penta T-Pad WS708C and the Swipe Halo Value Tablet  that were launched recently. LG LTE smartphone sales cross 5 million units in Korea

LG has announced that they have sold more than 10 million LTE smartphones in their home ground Korea. Last month the company announced that their LTE smartphone sales have cross 10 million units globally. LG announced the Optimus LTE, their first LTE smartphone in Korea back in October 2011, and shipped over 600,000 units in Korea alone in just 100 days after the launch. The global shipments of Optimus LTE crossed the 1 million mark last January. We are currently at a stage in which screen sizes of phones have become obnoxiously huge and whenever a manufacturer releases its flagship, it’s almost a certainty that it is going to be bigger than the previous flagship. This is the trend, and some people were sick of it, including some of us. So, when Samsung announced the Galaxy S3 mini, it was supposed to be the S3 for people with smaller hands, and for people who were just sick of huge screens. It was announced last month and packs a  4.6-inch 720p HD Reality Display with with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, powered by a 1.7 GHz Dual-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960Pro processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Magicon has launched the UltraSmart Q7 in India. It was teased earlier this week. It has a 4.63-inch  (854 ×480 pixels) FWVGA capacitive touch sceen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. Google Play v4.0 announced, brings redesigned UI

Google has announced the new Play Store for Android smartphones and Tablets. The new Google Play version 4.0.25 is a major update from the current version 3.10.14. This update brings a redesigned Holo-inspired user interface with new fonts, bigger images and lots more. This update also lets you discover things faster. iBall has launched Slide 6309i, a new tablet in the Slide series. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2MP rear camera and a VGA front-facing camera. iBall launched the Edu-Slide i1017 with a 10.1-inch HD IPS display last month. The HCL ME Y3 and the Byond Mi-book Mi7 has similar features, but both these tablets run on Android 4.0 and come with 3G support and voice calling features.

Acer’s upcoming tablet, Iconia A1-810 has been spotted on a french retail site. It has a 7.9-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) IPS  display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA (0.3MP) front-facing camera. Acer launched the Iconia B1 with a 7-inch display and a dual-core Mediatek processor in India earlier this year. HTC One X and One X+ get a price cut, now available for Rs. 25999 and Rs. 28999

HTC has cut the price of the One X and the One X+ in India, which are now available for Rs. 25999 and Rs. 28999 respectively. This is a huge price drop for both these smartphones since the launch, and this might due to the launch of the HTC One, the company’s latest flagship. The HTC One X was launched in India at Rs. 37,899 (MOP) last April and the HTC One X+ was launched last November for Rs 40,190. No details about the price cut for the HTC Butterfly, that was launched in India earlier this year at a price tag of Rs. 45,990. Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 specifications surface

Samsung Galaxy Mega line of Android smartphones, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 (GT-I9152) and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 were rumored earlier this month. Now, Sammobile is said to have confirmed specifications of these two devices. The Mega 5.8 is expected to have a  5.8-inch qHD TFT display, and the Mega 6.3 is expected to come with a 6.3-inch HD PLS display. Both these phones would run on Android 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) with Samsung’s own Nature UX on top. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 would have dual SIM support, and looks like a souped up version of the Galaxy Grand Duos, that we reviewed recently.

Micromax A72 Canvas Viva that surfaced online yesterday, is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. It has a 5-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz single-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It ccomes with 2G (EDGE) support, has a 3-megapixel camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Micromax had already launched the Canvas A100 and it’s successor A110 Canvas 2 A110 last year with a 5-inch display. The A116 Canvas HD is the company’s latest flagship that was launched earlier this year.
