We’re still waiting for more information regarding this but Reuters reports that Sony has bought out Ericsson’s 50% share in the Sony Ericsson joint venture. Sony Ericsson has recently completed 10 years of the JV and started off making feature phones and the iconic Walkman , Cybershot series of devices.

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA Ray is one of the most intriguing smartphone I have ever used. This phone goes against the current trend of expensive larger screen smartphones with high-specs or small and fat smartphones with low-specs. So I found it refreshing when Sony Ericsson announced the XPERIA Ray, a small screen smartphone with a reasonably high specifications. Keen on boosting the Xperia Play’s gaming credential, Sony Ericsson has today announced a partnership with Japanese video gaming developer and publisher Square Enix, to bring exclusive titles to the Xperia Play smartphone.

Flipkart announced the price of the phone last week but it was not available for pre-order. Now the Xperia ray is available from the online retail store LetsBuy. On Wednesday I attended a Sony Ericsson event where I had some hands-on time with new XPERIA ray and XPERIA arc S which has a beta version of Gingerbread 2.3.4 update. This update will bring about a number of improvements and features, including the ability to record still pictures in 3D.
As the name implies, the XPERIA arc S is a refresh of the XPERIA Arc. If you have read my review you would be aware by how impressed I am by the original arc. But I also questioned whether it would be able to withstand the onslaught of dual core flagships by Samsung and HTC. Well for better or worse, it is exactly the same device as the original Arc with a higher clock speed. It certainly feels speedy but so was the original Arc. Sony Ericsson has announced their new Xperia arc Android smartphone. This has been upgraded from their previous Xperia arc and they claim that this has 25% faster camera start up and 20% faster web page rendering compared to Xperia arc. This runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and the it is powered by 1.4Ghz processor. It has 4.2 inch Reality display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine and 8 MP camera with Exmor R image sensor. Sony Ericsson today announced the XPERIA neo V, a new mid-range Android smartphone to its XPERIA range and successor to the XPERIA neo.
Following in the footsteps of the Sony Ericsson W8 , the company has just unveiled a new budget Android based Walkman handset. The phone is powered by a 1Ghz processor with a 320MB of RAM. The screen is 3.2″ with the same disappointing HVGA resolution as the W8. The OS running the show here is Gingerbread along with the custom SE UI layer on top.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini (ST15i) is now available for pre-order in India. This Android phone was announced this May and it runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and has 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Sony Ericsson has announced that they have made limited time agreement with EA Mobile to offer FIFA 12 game optimized for Xperia PLAY. This would offer the Xperia PLAY owners to experience the FIFA 12 exclusively, before it comes to the Android Market. They launched Battlefield: Bad Company 2 last month.

Sony Ericsson is one of the famous mobile phone companies in the world and they are offering a lot of good handsets, and most of their smartphones are Android powered.
