
Samsung Electronics has introduced two new 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel image sensors; the 48-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 and the 32MP ISOCELL Bright GD1. Thanks to the reduced pixel size, the new sensors provide greater design flexibility, enabling manufacturers to build smaller modules or pack more pixels into existing designs. Samsung Electronics has announced two new automotive solution brands; Samsung Exynos Auto and Samsung ISOCELL Auto to bring application processor and image sensor technology solutions to the road. Based on the qualities of the Exynos mobile processors, Exynos Auto meets industry requirements for harsher environments, allowing automotive manufacturers to develop applications such as infotainment, advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS) and telematics.
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy A7 (2018) which is its first phone to come with triple rear-cameras and A9 is the world’s first smartphone with four rear-cameras. Now it looks like Samsung is working on yet another A-series phone that will be launched only in China initially. It is also said to be the company’s first ODM device which means that a third-party would manufacture it for the company.
