Court orders Motorola to stop selling devices in Germany

German court has ordered Motorola to stop smartphone sale over the infringe on an antenna design patent. The Mannheim Regional Court has ordered to cease all Moto X and Moto G sales in Germany, as the company is allegedly infringing on antenna related patents held by German firm LPKF Laser & Electronics.

64GB Moto X now official, Priced at $449

Its long been expected that Motorola will launch a higher capacity variant of the Moto X. Today, the company has confirmed that it plans to launch a 64GB version of the phone.

There’s little else that has changed here. The base specifications of the phone include a 4.7 inch 720p display, a 1.7Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC and this is paired with 2GB of RAM. The USP of the phone comes in the form of touchless controls that let you activate Google Now and use voice based commands without touching the device. Motorola releases Moto Stream Bluetooth music streaming accessory

Motorola which has bounced back in the smartphone business with its budget and mid range smartphones is now moving to accessories. The company has launched a bluetooth audio streaming device that connects to your smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer up to 300 feet of “roam range”.

Motorola Mobility to shut down Texas smartphone factory

Motorola Mobility will shut down its smartphone factory at Fort Worth, Texas by the end of this year. According to the Wall Street Journal, the plant which was opened in May 2013 had 3,800 workers, which has now reduced to 700 employees. The factory primarily assembled the Moto X, Motorola’s high-end smartphone.

Motorola updates Moto G in the UK with 4G and a micro SD slot, priced at 149 GBP unlocked

Moments after launching the Motorola Moto E in India, stirring up the mobile market once again is the launch of the newly updated Moto G in the UK, with 4G LTE and a micro SD slot. Two of the biggest complaints regarding the Moto G have been literally decimated with this updated model of an already successful device. This device, launched in the UK, caters to the newly upgraded networks in the country and the addition of expandable storage is just icing on the cake. The Moto G for the Indian market comes without 4G or a micro SD slot, but we certainly feel it could have launched with the latter, as 4G is still in its very early stages here. Priced at US$219 / 149 GBP, it is a bit costlier than before, but is still well within the budget of many, especially with LTE.

First announced in August 2013, the Moto X finally made its way to Indian shores and hit retail last month. The phone uses a unique chipset that is called the X8 Mobile Computing system that allows it to be contextually aware. Powering the phone is a 1.7Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC with an Adreno 320 GPU. This is paired with two separate co-processor units that are responsible for Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Contextual Awareness. These coprocessors give the Moto X its always listening capabilities that really come into life when combined with Google Now’s contextual capabilities.
