Google has expanded Chrome’s autofill capabilities to include a wider range of personal data. Desktop users with enhanced autofill enabled can now automatically fill in passport and driver’s license numbers, as well as vehicle information such as license plate numbers or VINs. The update helps reduce manual data entry across web forms that require identification or registration details.
Chrome also improves recognition of complex and varied web forms, offering more accurate autofill performance across different websites and regions. The browser can now better interpret diverse field formats and structures, allowing for smoother and more consistent form completion.

Google notes that the new autofill experience remains private and secure. Chrome saves data only with user permission and protects stored information through encryption. Before using any saved data, the browser prompts users for confirmation, ensuring full control over what details are shared.
