Google to reportedly debut Android TV with ‘Pano’ UI at I/O this month

We have heard rumors about Google working on an entertainment platform like Android TV for quite some time now. However, according to a new report from GigaOm, Google will introduce the Android TV at the I/O conference this month. The report claims that the new platform will be a revamped version of Google TV platform and will focus mainly on bringing online media content and Android gaming to televisions rather than concentrating on the ‘apps for TV’.

Samsung Z first Tizen-powered smartphone announced

Few months after launching a range of Tizen powered wearable devices, Samsung has just announced the Samsung Z, the company’s first smartphone powered by Tizen OS 2.2.1. It has a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED display and is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core processor. It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. HP SlateBook 14-inch Android laptop goes official

HP has announced a 14 inch Android powered laptop that is dubbed as SlateBook PC. Priced at $399, the laptop has a 14-inch FHD (1080p) touchscreen display with NVIDIA Tegra 4 under the hood. It is 16 millimeters thick and weighs just around 3.75 pounds (1.7 kg). The SlateBook 14 laptop was first leaked online in April this year.

Gionee Elife S5.5 Unboxing

Back in February, just ahead of the Mobile World Congress, Gionee announced the Elife S5.5 which is currently the slimmest smartphone. The Gionee Elife S5.5 comes with a Full HD AMOLED display and is powered by MediaTek’s Octa-core SoC. It also comes with a 13MP camera module on the back. Oppo Find 7a Camera Samples

Oppo Find 7a is one of the successors of the popular Oppo Find 5. Oppo Find 7a comes with a 13MP rear camera that can record 4K videos thanks to the Snapdragon 801 SoC inside it. There is a also a 5MP front camera that was designed for video chatting, but is being used these days for “selfies”. The Oppo Find 5 too had a 13MP rear shooter and it was a very capable one. The Oppo Find 7a is arriving a year later than the Find 5 and lets check out how improved the camera on the Oppo Find 7a is.

As you can see above, the 4K video samples is full of colors and details. The Oppo Find 7a definitely has one of the best 13MP camera modules on a smartphone and the software algorithm seems to complement the camera performance.

Japan Display introduces 7-inch WQXGA display with WhiteMagic technology

Japan Display Inc. has announced a 7-inch wide QXGA (1600 x 2560 pixels) LCD panel for tablets. This LTPS (Low temperature polysilicon) type display has a new WhiteMagic technology that promises low power consumption and high visibility under sunlight. This uses edge-lit method, in which the LEDs are placed at the edges of the lightguide plate. This can reduce the module of up to 1.16 mm. We had already seen this WhiteMagic technology on the Sony Xperia P, but this also uses new local dimming backlight along with this. Back when Joe Belfiore took part in an AMA on Reddit, for Windows Phone 8.1, he revealed that Microsoft had an official File Manager app ready and it will be coming soon. That day has arrived, as the “Files” app has made its way on to the store. With the new WinRT APIs for 8.1, Microsoft had enabled the file picker and file access for third party apps, and it was only about time that they made a first party app too. WhatsApp is back on Windows Phone Store, brings Chat backgrounds, Privacy features and more

WhatsApps was suddenly removed from the Windows Phone Store due to technical issues and the WhatsApp team said that they are working with Microsoft to resolve the issues and bring it back shortly. The app did not return to the store even after a week, leaving Windows Phone users frustrated, since this is the only way to download the app for the platform. Few hours back the apps has returned to the Windows Phone Store and it has also been updated with new features.

Airtel has launched 4G services in Jalandhar, Punjab.Airtel launched its 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana last March and rolled out voice services on 4G in these three cities earlier this month. It also launched its 4G services in Ludhiana earlier this month. In Jalandhar, Airtel customers can access 4G on dongles, Wi-Fi CPEs (Customer Premise Equipment/ routers) and mobile phones.
