ASUS has announced the Chromebook Education series which includes the Chromebook C204, the ASUS Chromebook C403, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 convertible, and the ASUS Chromebook Tablet CT100. The new series features durability, spill- and tamper-resistant keyboards and all-around rubber bumpers.

Microsoft has switched the dark mode on with October update of Windows 10 and it’s up to app developers to do their part. Google is now bringing dark mode for Chrome on Windows 10. We already know that Samsung is working on its foldable phone, and it was also showcased officially back in November last year. Out of nowhere, now a new video of a foldable smartphone from Xiaomi has surfaced, thanks to @evleaks. It can be folded both the sides, turning the huge tablet-like screen to a small phone-like formfactor. If this is real, this should be the world’s first dual-side foldable phone.

WIPO and USPTO published a patent of an LG smartwatch and method for controlling same on December 20, 2018. The patent hints at a smartwatch with a camera in the watch band. It is necessary to move the camera to get a clean photograph which is easy with a smartphone, but it’s a bit difficult on a wrist. Xiaomi has scheduled an event in China on January 10th to launch a new smartphone. The invite has 4800 written upside down hinting at a 48MP camera phone that was teased by Xiaomi President Lin Bin in an image last month. The image showed a large sensor along with dual LED flash. Another teaser hints at a large sensor and 3x zoom.

HMD Global has launched new Nokia 106 feature phone as the successor of the old Nokia 106 in India. It was introduced in November last year, has the same 1.8-inch (160 x 128 pixels) TFT display with 4-way Navi Key and the same 800mAh battery as the predecessor, but this promises 15.7 hours talk time.

Google has won approval from U.S. regulators to deploy a radar-based motion sensing device known as Project Soli, said the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in an order. It has granted Google a waiver to operate the Soli sensors at higher power levels than currently allowed. The FCC said the sensors can also be operated aboard aircraft.
