A year after Amazon Prime Video released Baahubali: The Lost Legends, an animated series in India, Netflix today announced a new Netflix original series – Baahubali: Before the Beginning, a prequel to Baahubali: the Beginning and Baahubali: the Conclusion movies. This will be based on Anand Neelakantan’s book, The Rise of Sivagami, and the first season will have 9 episodes, and Netflix has ordered two seasons. Qin AI Phone, a new 4G VoLTE feature phone is now available for order from Xiaomi’s crowd funding platform in China. It has a 2.8-inch QVGA color display with T9 keyboard and runs Android-based Mocor 5 OS. The main highlight of the smartphone its AI voice features that promises real-time voice translation in 17 languages. The AI can also tell a story or poetry to children, in addition to answering questions.
Along with the Galaxy Tab S4, Samsung also introduced the Galaxy Tab A (2018) with a 10.5-inch WUXGA display. It is powered by Snapdragon 450 with 3GB of RAM, runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) and comes with quad-speakers built into each corner of the tablet with support from Dolby Atmos. Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab S4, successor of last year’s Galaxy Tab S3, as expected. It has a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED WQXGA screen, is powered by a Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 SoC and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo). It has quad-stereo speakers tuned by AKG by HARMAN, similar to the predecessor and comes with an an enhanced S Pen. It has got rid of the fingerprint scanner and the home button on the front for Iris scanner.
Vietnam-based Mobiistar forayed into the Indian market with the XQ Dual and CQ selfie smartphones back in May. Today it has launched five new selfie smartphones – C1 Lite, C1, C2, E1 Selfie and X1 Dual in the country for the offline market. The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) just released recommendations on Auction of Spectrum in 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, including 5G spectrum – 3300-3400 MHz and 3400-3600 MHz bands after the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) requested TRAI to provide applicable reserve price, quantum of spectrum to be auctioned and associated conditions for auction of spectrum. ASUS just launched the Zenfone Max Pro M1 smartphone in India back in April, and the phone went on sale from May 3rd in 3GB RAM with 32GB storage version and the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage versions starting at Rs. 10,999. The 6GB RAM with 64GB storage version with 16MP primary rear and 16MP front camera went on sale in the country from July 26th Rs. 14,999.
