HTC today announced the One A9 and Desire 828 dual sim smartphones in India. The first smartphone in the new One A series was unveiled last month, and packs a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Octa-Core Snapdragon 617 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with HTC Sense UI on top, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), RAW image capture and an Ultrapixel front-facing camera. Last month Google announced Accelerated Mobile Pages, its new open source initiative to improve the performance of the mobile web pages. Now the company has announced that first accelerated pages will come sometime in early 2016, so all the traffic from Google Search will go to Accelerated Mobile Pages. This competes with Facebook Instant Articles that was launched earlier this year for iPhone. It was also launched for Android users in India this month. Lenovo launched Vibe S1, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in India earlier this week, exclusively on Amazon.in, priced at Rs.15,999. We recently brought you the unboxing and the first impressions and photo gallery of the Midnight Blue version, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. The Vibe S1 is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752 processor with eight ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 1.69GHz per core and has Mali-T760 MP2 GPU. International Data Corporation (IDC) has announced that 28.3 million smartphones were shipped to India in the third quarter of 2015 that ended September 30th. This is up 21.4% from 23.3 million units for the same period last year, said the report. It also said that one out of 3 smartphones shipped in India in Q3 2015 were 4G-enabled. Samsung is still the top smartphone vendor in the country by shipments with 24% market share, up 1% compared to the last quarter. We had already seen the new Samsung Galaxy A7 (SM-A7100) smartphone in several benchmark listings, now the smartphone has been certified on TENAA (Via) in China. It shows the design of the smartphone for the first time, which is similar to the Galaxy S6 series with a glass back and curved sides with a metal frame. Even though it has the same 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display present in first Galaxy A7, the successor has a slightly curved glass on the front.
OnePlus held its first open sale for the OnePlus 2 smartphone in India on October 12th, later it extended the sale by day. Today the company has announced that it will bring back the smartphone on open sale from tomorrow, which will last for three days. The OnePlus 2 went on sale in India back in August for Rs. 24,999 and is currently available for purchase only with invites on Amazon. Xiaomi today introduced Mi Air Purifier 2, successor of the company’s first Air Purifier that was introduced last year. This compact second generation air purifier from Xiaomi is smaller, measuring just 240mm x 520mm is 11% quieter and is 58% power efficient compared to the fist Mi Air Purifier. Today the company has sent out invites for the launch of its Q Terra smartphones that have dual 13-megapixel rear cameras. The Q Terra 808 is powered by a Hexa-Core Snapdragon 808 processor and comes with 3GB of RAM and has a 6-inch 1080p display. The Q Terra 810 is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 processor, comes with 4GB of RAM and has a 6-inch Quad HD display. Xiaomi today announced Mi Pad 2, successor of last year’s Mi Pad at an event in China, as it promised, along with the Redmi Note 3. It has the same 7.9-inch (2048 × 1536 pixels) display at 326 ppi as the first Mi Pad, but the NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor has been replaced by a quad-core Intel Atom X5-Z8500.
