Opera 36 beta for Android brings new tab switcher, web apps discoverability and more

Opera 36 beta for Android

Opera has updated its beta app for Android to version 36 that brings several new features, including a new tab switcher with a modern look and a better underlying structure to allow optimized resource management. Opera says it is still working on perfecting it, but it it asking beta testers for their feedback. The update also lets you make progressive web apps easier to find on the web. It will automatically allow compatible web apps like the Flipkart Lite to be added to the home screen.

HTC 10 live and press images surface

Press image of the HTC 10, the company’s upcoming flagship smartphone has surfaced for the first time, thanks to @evleaks. It shows its unibody metal build, similar design as the HTC One A9 on the front, fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button along with the capacitive touch buttons on either sides and a large front camera sensor. It is missing the usual dual front-facing boomsound speakers.

OnePlus has started rolling out Oxygen OS v2.2.1 OTA update for the OnePlus 2 smartphone. This update brings RAW support in its own OnePlus camera app. You can enable option to save RAW image from the camera settings. Few months back Oxygen OS 2.1.0 brought RAW image support for 3rd party camera apps. The update also improves Bluetooth and Ultra SIM compatibility, fixes occasional image corruption issue in OnePlus Camera and more. Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge launching in India on March 8

Samsung just sent press invites for the launch of its flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge smartphones in India on March 8th. Both these smartphones were announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last week, pack a 5.1-inch Quad HD and 5.5-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED always-on displays, respectively. In India the variants will likely be powered by an Octa-Core Exynos 8 Octa 8890 SoC, instead of Quad-Core Snapdragon 820 processor. Microsoft Hyperlapse for Android gets option to save to SD card, save in 1080p and more

Microsoft has updated its Hyperlapse app for Android that finally gets option to save the recorded videos to microSD card on compatible devices. It also gets option to save 1080p videos in compatible devices. Both these features can be enabled from the settings. If you can’t enable, then the feature is not available for your device.

Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 3 smartphone in India yesterday starting at Rs. 9999. We already brought you the benchmarks of the Helio X10 version of the Redmi Note 3, here are the benchmarks of the Snapdragon 650 version. It is powered by an Hexa-Core Snapdragon 650 28nm processor with four smaller ARM Cortex A53 core clocked at 1.4GHz per core and two bigger ARM Cortex A72 cores clocked at 1.4GHz per core. It has 600MHz Adreno 510 GPU. We have the 3GB RAM version, but the phone also comes in 2GB of RAM version. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p display and runs on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) with MIUI 7 on top.  Check out the synthetic benchmark scores below. Xiaomi Mi 5 launching in India in April, 20000mAh Mi Power Bank coming soon

Xiaomi launched its mid-range Redmi Note 3 smartphone at the Mi Bluetooth speaker in India at an event earlier today. At the launch event Hugo Barra, Vice President of Xiaomi Global said that its flagship Mi 5 smartphone will launch in India in April. He said that the 20000mAh Mi Power Bank will launch in India soon and all the attendees of the event get a free Power Bank. But no details about the price yet.
