Global tablet shipments down 14.7% YoY in Q1 2016, Apple maintains lead: IDC

Worldwide tablet market declined yet again in the first quarter of 2016 with 39.6 million units shipped, down 14.7% year over year, according to latest report from the International Data Corporation (IDC). This is the sixth straight quarter where tablets have reported a decrease year-over-year. In Q4, 2015 tablet shipment had declined by 10.1%. Sony F3216 with 21MP camera, 16MP front camera and F3311 surface in benchmarks

Two new Sony’s upcoming smartphones, F3216 and F3311 have surfaced in GFXBench. The Sony F3216 has a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, similar to the rumored Xperia M Ultra that surfaced recently, but this will be powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC. LG Q1 2016 profits up 65% YoY despite 15.5% drop in mobile revenue

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 13.36 trillion won (US$ 11.12 billion) in Q1 2016, down 4.5% compared to the same quarter last year with operating profit of 505.2 billion won (US$ 420.25 million), up 65% from the same period the previous year, mainly due to 55% YoY growth in Car Infotainment business. LeEco renews partnership with Flipkart ahead of launch of its next smartphone

LeEco entered into the Indian market earlier this year with the launch of Le 1s and Le Max smartphones in the country that were launched exclusively on Flipkart. It recently unveiled Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 smartphones at an event in China that are expected to launch in India soon. Now the company has renewed its exclusive partnership with Flipkart that  was signed off by Atul Jain COO Smart Electronics Business on behalf of LeEco and Flipkart.

Samsung Gear 360 VR Camera launched in Korea, pricing revealed

Samsung today launched Gear 360, its first 360 degree virtual reality camera in Korea, as it had promised at the Developer Conference earlier this week in San Francisco. It was announced that the MWC 2016 earlier this year, comes with dual fish-eye lenses with 15 megapixel image sensors and can capture high-resolution (3840×1920) 360-degree video that also supports 30 megapixel still images. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p IPS display with 74% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by an Octa-Core Kirin 650 16nm SoC, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with EMUI 4.1 on top, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 8-megapixel front-facing camera and also has a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in 0.5 seconds. Lenovo today announced that it has sold over 5 lakh or half a million devices of the Vibe K4 Note smartphones since the launch in India. Motorola schedules launch event in India on May 17, Moto G4 and G4 Plus expected

The invite doesn’t reveal any details what it is expected to launch, but it will likely launch the new Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus smartphones at the event. HTC working on M1 and S1 Nexus devices, Nexus phone with Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM surfaces

A report from earlier this year said that Google will release two Nexus devices this year, both made by HTC. Now @evleaks has said that those two smartphones are called M1 and S1 internally. Android Police further states that HTC’s internal model numbers are probably based upon the codenames Marlin and Sailfish, named after aquatic life.
