According to a new report from Counterpoint Research, the global smartphone AP (Application Processor)/SoC (System on Chip) witnessed a growth of 5% YoY during 2021. 5G-capable SoCs accounted for half of total shipments, and the market was led by MediaTek, Qualcomm and Apple.

The International Data Corporation (IDC) has released their report on the Indian PC market for Q4 2021 and the entire 2021 year. The market witnessed record number of shipments at 14.8 million units during 2021, and growing 44.5% YoY. The top 5 manufacturers for the year were HP, Dell, Lenovo, Acer and Asus.

The feature is now being rolled out to more than 150 countries worldwide, and to monetize them, Facebook is introducing Overlay ads in Reels. It is also receiving a couple of new updates to improve the creator experience and discovery experience.

Earlier this month, OPPO launched new models in their mid-range Reno line-up of smartphones, namely the Reno7 and the Reno7 Pro. On paper, it appears that OPPO has made only minor tweaks to both devices, primarily in the design, and have continued to price them near other high-end smartphones from OnePlus and Xiaomi. 2022 is set to be a big year for Apple, as the company is reportedly gearing to update their hardware product lineup with multiple launches. According to Bloomberg reporter, Apple is expected to launch several new Mac models that will feature flavours of their custom Apple Silicon processors, including a new M2 chip.
Intel held their 2022 Investor Meeting yesterday and during the event, the company revealed that the first devices powered by Intel Arc GPUs are slated to launch soon in the first quarter of 2022. The first devices will be laptops, followed by desktop offerings in Q2 2022, and the company expects to ship over 4 million Arc GPUs in the whole year.
