Redmi Note 8 Pro 64MP Quad Camera phone and Redmi Note 8 to be announced on August 29

After teasers Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just confirmed that it will introduce the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones at an event in China along with the Redmi TV on August 29th. The image confirms 64-megapixel camera with quad camera setup for the Redmi Note 8 Pro. There is a fingerprint sensor below the camera module. The phones will have glass back.

Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing has confirmed that the phone will not come with plastic body and pop-up camera, will weigh less than 200 grams, will feature 18W fast charging and not 10W charging, and liquid cooling as well.

The company already confirmed that Redmi Note 8 Pro will use Samsung’s latest 1/7″ 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel 64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor that is 38% bigger than 48MP sensor that it uses in its latest smartphones and will offer 9248 x 6936 pixel resolution. It also confirmed that the phone will launch in India in Q4 2019.

The sensor uses 1.6μm later pixel using 4-in-1 pixel technology for improved low-light shots, the ISOCELL Plus technology delivers higher color fidelity along with up to a 15% enhancement in light sensitivity, and also enables image sensors to equip 0.8-micrometer (µm) and smaller-sized pixels without any loss in performance. Smart ISO supported by Dual Conversion Gain (DCG) technology intelligently adjusts the ISO sensitivity based on ambient light intensity.

Hybrid 3D HDR will offer Hardware-enabled high dynamic range (HDR) of up to 100-decibels (dB) that provides richer hues. Compared to the dynamic range of a conventional image sensor, which is at around 60dB (while that of the human eye is typically considered to be around 120dB), the GW1 strives to provide true-to-life imagery.

Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing has already confirmed that the Note 8 Pro will offer clearer images, longer battery life, high screen-to-body ratio and it will feel better in hand.

We should know more details about the smartphone in the coming days.
