Meizu has announced its first fitness band called the Meizu Band at its M5 Note event in China. Google today started rolling out Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update for the Pixel, Pixel XL and compatible Nexus devices starting from today. The Pixel devices that were launched in India came with Android 7.1 (Nougat) but did not have option to enable VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) support. The latest Android 7.1.1 finally brings support for VoLTE for Reliance Jio in India and other operators worldwide that support VoLTE. Meizu just announced M5 Note, the company’s latest smartphone in the Note series at an event in China, as it had promised. It a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Flyme OS 6.0 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) for fast focus in just 0.2 seconds and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Lenovo has launched the PHAB 2 in India, as it had promised. It was introduced at the Lenovo Tech World 2016 in San Francisco back in June and packs a 6.4-inch display, similar to the PHAB 2 Plus, but this uses a 720p panel instead of a 1080p display. This also doesn’t have dual rear cameras and fingerprint sensor, but most other specifications are similar, including the huge 4050mAh battery, Dolby Atmos with 5.1 Dolby Audio Capture, Triple Array Microphone with Active Noise-Cancellation and 3GB RAM. HP has announced that it has redesigned its Managed Print Services (MPS) to help protect corporate print environments against cyberattacks. “New HP Secure MPS capabilities include advanced security professional services, software solutions and expanded core delivery capabilities for customers’ multi-vendor print fleets,” said the company.
Google has started rolling out Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update for several Nexus devices and Pixel devices, as expected. The update brings new emoji that reflect the pivotal roles women play in the world, female welders and men getting haircuts for Nexus devices, option to send GIFs directly from your keyboard on supported apps such as Google Allo, Google Messenger and Hangouts. It also brings app shortcuts that can be launched directly from home screen. LG has launched its flagship V20 smartphone in India as it had promised. It has a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Quantum display, a 2.1 second (160 x 1040 pixels) screen, similar to the V10. It runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat), has a 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 75-degree lens, f/1.8 aperture, OIS and Hybrid Auto Focus (HAF) integrating three AF mechanisms – Laser Detection AF, Phase Detection AF (PDAF) and Contrast AF – for both videos and photos along with a 8-megapixel rear camera with f/2.4 aperture and 135-degree lens for capturing wide shots.
