Opera has updated the Opera browser for Android to version 20, that brings WebRTC (Real-Time Communications support) that lets the browser communicate peer-to-peer with encryption without plugins. This was first introduced in the Opera 20 beta for Android last month. This update also brings ability to configure UI layout to suit mobile phone or tablet, simple search feature that auto completes your search results, option select phone, classic or tablet layout and more. Google has updated its Gmail app for iPhone and iPad to version 3.0, that brings the most expected background app refresh feature finally. This lets all your Gmail messages pre-fetched and synced, when you open the app. The background app refresh was introduced in the iOS 7. SpiceJet, popular Indian airline, has launched their mobile mobile exclusively on the Windows Phone Store. The app has been available on the Store for over two months, looks like they have planned to officially launch it today. The app lets you book tickets, check flight status and also avail special promotional offers. Nokia has partnered with SpiceJet to launch the app to Windows Phone Store.

RAR for Android was first introduced as beta last month. The app was out of beta recently, that brings a lot of new features including a new navigation panel with archive history, RAR 4.x compression options, new notifications and support for more languages such as Bulgarian, Dutch, Italian and Simplified Chinese. Adobe has released the Adobe Revel app for Android devices. This lets you edit your photos with built-in tools such as Photoshop Elements 12 and Premiere Elements 12. It also lets you create a group library to share images. Adobe already has Adobe GroupPix for collaborative photo sharing and Photoshop Express for editing. Facebook has released the Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone 8, as it promised at the Mobile World Congress last week. The Facebook Messenger has a new user interface, similar to the Facebook app for Windows Phone, that already has Facebook Messenger Integration. The new Chatrooms feature lets you Chat with people, share your location, send virtual gifts, and more. The new update also brings improvements and bug fixes. Last month’s update ( version 1.1.6.0) brought improvements to UI, connectivity and file sharing and Persian language support.

Sony Socialife or Sony’s news app that comes per-loaded on Xperia smartphones, is not exclusive to Xperia smartphones anymore. The Japanese manufacturer has released the app on Google Play for all Android smartphones running on Android 4.1 or later. The app crossed 10 million downloads recently, which now has over 13 million downloads, says the company. Looks like it is still exclusive to Sony Xperia tablets. Google has started rolling out a new Google + update (version 4.3) for Android, that brings a lot of new photo editing features, new filters, snap-seed-inspired tools and more. The main feature is the non-destructive photo editing, that lets you backup full-resolution photos from your desktop, edit them on your phone, add edit the same photo with some finishing touches from your tablet. Google Nexus 5, that was launched with Android 4.4 (KitKat) was the only to come with Google Now Launcher to directly access Google Now from the home screen. Earlier this month there were reports about the launcher coming too Google Play. We even saw APKs to side-load the launcher on other devices.
