Huawei smartphones with dual rear cameras, full-screen display surface on TENAA

Four upcoming Huawei smartphones with model numbers FLA-TL10, FLA-AL00, LDN-TL00 and LND-TL30 have surfaced on TENAA in China. These show only images of the phones, one thing common with all these phones are full-screen display, dual rear cameras and rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The Huawei LDN-TL00 in Blue color seems to have a polycarbonate body and the image shows shiny frame.

Bose today launched Soundsport Free earbuds and SoundLink Micro Rugged Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker in India. The Soundsport Free earbuds weigh just 10g each and measures just 2.8cm high x 3.0cm deep. They house a new antennae system to maintain a strong and reliable connection between each other, and the phone or tablet they’re paired to – whether the device is 9m away. It promises up to 5 hours of listening time on a single charge, while the case provides 10 hours of battery life. It also has IPX4 ratings for water-resistance. Google rolls out February 2018 Android security update, includes Bluetooth, Camera improvements for Pixel 2

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel and Nexus devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release. The  update for this month improves Bluetooth call quality for some headsets on Pixel devices and also improves Wi-Fi uplink performance, Camera performance in certain light conditions and Android Auto Projected performance for some cars for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones.

Tecno Camon i Air with 5.65-inch FullView display, fingerprint sensor launched in India for Rs. 7999

After the Camon i that was launched last month, China-based Transsion Holdings’ TECNO Mobile today launched Tecno Camon i Air, the company’s latest smartphone in India. It has a 5.65-inch HD+ 18:9 FullView display, is powered by quad-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with the company’s own HiOS on top along with a 13-megapixel  rear camera with  quad-LED flash, similar to the Camon i, but this has a 8-megapixel front-facing camera instead of a 13-megapixel camera. Worldwide 2-in-1 detachable market grows 10.3%, tablet market continues to decline in Q4 2017: IDC

According to IDC’s preliminary data, the Worldwide 2-in-1 detachable tablet market grows 10.3% with 6.5 million units in the fourth quarter of 2017. The regular tablets were shipped around 43.1 million units during the fourth quarter with 141.7 million the entire year which is a decline of 7.6% from the previous year. HTC U11+ with 6-inch QHD+ display, Snapdragon 835, 6GB RAM launched in India for Rs. 56990

HTC today launched the  U11+, the company’s latest flagship smartphone in the ‘U series’ in India. It was announced  back in November last year and comes with a 6-inch Quad HD+ 18:9 Full Screen display with 82% screen-to-body ratio and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 coupled with 6GB of RAM. Like the original U11, it comes with Edge Sense technology.

Infinix has launched Hot S3, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘Hot S’ series in India. Broadcom yet again bids to acquire Qualcomm at higher price

Broadcom back in November has proposed an offer to acquire Qualcomm, and the chipset maker rejected the offer saying that the proposal dramatically undervalues Qualcomm and comes with significant regulatory uncertainty. However, Broadcom today has yet again proposed an updated offer at a higher $121 billion and the all outstanding shares of Qualcomm for $60.00 per share in cash and $22.00 per share in Broadcom stock. Google turns on Pixel 2 Visual Core custom image processing chip, to roll out new AR Stickers

Back in October Google announced that the Pixel 2 and 2 XL feature a custom chip; the Visual Core custom image processing chip. However, it was not enabled by default and Google said that it would be enabled once the Oreo 8.1 rolls out, and the day is finally here as the company today announced that it is turning on the visual core to accelerate HDR+ images 5x faster.
