Google is planning on fixing a bug on Chromecast TV streaming stick and Home that reveals user’s location. This bug lets a website collect precise user location data, according to a report from security reporter Brian Krebs. This bug exploits a loophole in Google’s systems to cross-check a list of nearby wireless networks with Google’s precise geolocation look-up services. Google India announces training network for journalists to raise awareness and share new tools to fight fake news

Google India just announced the launch of an extensive training network for journalists in India as a part of  Google News Initiative. With this it aims to raise awareness against misinformation and provide new tools to journalists in their fight against fake news. This will provide training to 8000 journalists in English and six other Indian languages in the next one year.

Samsung is planning to develop its own GPUs for mobile devices, self-driving cars

Samsung is already making its own Exyons SoCs for its smartphones that are sold outside the U.S. however these CPUs ARM Mali GPUs. Now a job listing for Samsung SARC, its R&D center in Austin, Texas and ACL (Advanced Computing Lab) in San Jose reveals that Samsung is looking to make its own GPUs, starting from its budget phones, but it also plans to develop GPUs for autonomous driving, deep and machine learning.

Nokia X6 (TA-1083 and TA-1116) global variants receive Bluetooth certification

Nokia X6 with model numbers TA-1099 and TA-1103 were certified by Bluetooth SIG last month before it went official in China . Now two more models TA-1083 and TA-1116 were certified by Bluetooth SIG. Nokia TA-1116 already got certified in Russia, but it was not announced at the global event in Russia a few weeks back, and we only saw the Nokia 5.1Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1 budget smartphones.
