Amazon is expected to launch Echo, its voice activated smart speaker device in India this year, according to a latest report from FactorDaily. Powered by Alexa which is an artificial intelligent voice assistant, Echo acts as a smart hub for your home.
Citing sources the report said that Amazon is “putting together content and localising the service,”. Amazon Echo is expected to be announced in second half of 2016. Announced in 2014, the device lets you enjoy music, manage everyday tasks and ask questions via voice commands. It offers real-time answers for questions ranging from cooking, news, sports and even basic day-to-day tasks like knowing the weather, stock markets and so on.
Last year, Google launched Google Home smart speaker that comes with Google Assistant which competes directly with Amazon Echo. Amazon is already aggressive in India with the recent Amazon Prime and Prime Video launch.

Google has bagged a deal to provide WiFi across Pune via its Google Station initiative. The company has received WiFi deal for the Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) under which it will offer fast speed WiFi hotspots in the city. HTC today launched HTC 10 evo, the company’s latest smartphone in the ‘HTC 10’ series in India. Huawei’s Honor brand launched the Honor 6X smartphone last month in India starting at Rs. 12,999. The 3GB RAM version of the smartphone went on sale exclusively on Amazon.in in the first flash sale last Thursday, February 2nd, which went out of stock in a matter of minutes, according to the company. Today in the second sale Honor said that the 4GB RAM version will also be available for purchase in addition to 3GB RAM variant starting at 2PM. Moto has started rolling out Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for the Moto Z Play smartphone in India finally. This brings a new Moto action that lets you swipe to shrink the screen, and a new setting to disable and enable locking the screen when the screen is on and you touch the fingerprint sensor. To access this setting, you need to go to Security, then tap on the screen lock gear icon. Other features include, Moto Display landscape mode, new Hasselblad TrueZoom mode settings and improvements.
