HTC One Max to finally launch on October 16th, comes with a fingerprint scanner

The HTC One Max might be one of the most leaked devices ever, with virtually everything known before its launch. It was rumoured to have launched at IFA, but the company seems to have finally fixed on a date for the official reveal. According to a Taiwanese invite, the One Max is all set to launch on October 18th, in Taiwan, and the existence of a finger print scanner has been subtly hinted on the invite. The invite reads –

Update: Two days before the Taiwan event, HTC seems to have scheduled another event on the 16th for the same, in Hong Kong.

Micromax launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series last month. We brought you the unboxing last week, here we have the complete review of the tablet. This is one of the first Android tablet to feature a 4:3 display. This is also the first tablet from Micromax to pack a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 processor. The tablet runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean), similar to the Canvas 4 and the Canvas Doodle 2, the company’s latest flagship devices. Is the tablet worth the price ? Let’s find it out in the review. Xolo launched the Q700, the company’s second smartphone in the Q CORE series back in May. We reviewed it in June, now the Q700i, an upgraded version of the Q700 has been listed on Flipkart. The Q700i has almost similar features including a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology,  1.2 GHz quad-core processor and Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). After all the hype surrounding the golden iPhone , we are always on the look out for golden phones.If you have been following us closely , you must have read about the Samsung Galaxy Golden  which was launched in South Korea back in August. It is an interesting flip phone running Android and features dual 3.7 inch WVGA AMOLED displays , one on the inside and one on the outside.  The phone goes by the model number SHV-E400S in case you are planning to get your hands on one. Sadly no video but we have plenty of photos of the phone and the retail box for your viewing pleasure.

NEC Medias W Dual Screen Android Phone Unboxing

You might have seen us getting intrigued by the NEC Medias W Android Phone at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year, but we have finally got it with us, in our hands, the wacky yet innovative dual screened Android Phone. The two 4.3″ qHD screens are definitely the unique selling point of the Medias W. It presents really interesting opportunities and even future-looking ideas for a better implementation. Not to say this is bad, but it is really intriguing for a v1.0. We had gotten hold of a retail unit of this unlocked phone that sells only in Japan with a carrier tie-up(NTT Docomo) for 100 Mbps LTE.The device has the model number N-05E.The box contents are bare, but take a look at the device in action in the video below –

Micromax Canvas Turbo A250 with 1080p display, 1.5 GHz quad-core processor reportedly in the works

Micromax launched the Canvas 4 A210 and the Canvas Doodle 2 A240 recently with a 720p display. Now the twitter user MMXNewscaster has posted the boot animation screenshot that reveals that the name of the phone would be Canvas Turbo and the model number is A250. DroidExtra has got hold of the ROM of the device which reveals that the phone would feature a full HD display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, but the display size is unknown. HTC Desire 500 appeared on Snapdeal last month and it appeared on Flipkart last week, now the phone is available from online retailers Saholic and Infibeam in India.  The Desire 500 was announced back in July and packs a 4.3-inch  (480 × 800 pixels) display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) with Sense 5.  It has a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and BSI sensor and a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor. We are reported that HTC plans to launch the One mini and the Desire 500 in India soon. The Desire 500 appeared on Snapdeal last week, now the price of the phone has been revealed. Both the phones have been listed on Flipkart. Facebook Home update brings photo from Instagram, Tumblr, Pinterest or Flickr feed to your lockscreen

Facebook announced its Facebook Home launcher for Android in April. Facebook is already the homepage on the desktops of most people and with Facebook Home, it is trying to stamp its authority even in the smartphone segment. Facebook Home was launched as a lock-screen replacement application and it brings posts from your Facebook feed right to the lock-screen of your Android smartphone.

ZTE has announced two new smartphones, the nubia 5 and the Grand S for the U.S. markets. Both these phones have a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) full HD IPS display at 440 ppi, powered by a 1.5 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 Pro (APQ8064) processor and run on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). ZTE unveiled the Grand S earlier this year at the CES 2013. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) 5-point multi-touch display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. The tablet comes with parental lock that lets parents restrict or block internet usage,  restrict apps that can be accessed by children using Application Manager and a timer to set the amount of time each day that their child can use the tablet.
